Who else can’t remember the exact date they officially gave their life to Christ?

Every time I see someone celebrate their new birth anniversary, I try to search my memory for a date, but I can never pinpoint it to a particular day.

One memory I can never forget, though, is the night I was 13 when I heard God clearly as He gave me my anchor Scripture for life. I didn’t fully understand it at the time, but I knew it was a turning point.

I know the trajectory of my life would have been different if I hadn’t met Him when I did.

It’s been 17 years of learning and following God, precept by precept, and my life couldn’t have been better.

Even though I don’t have an exact date, I remember going forward for several altar calls until one day, after yet another altar call I had responded to, my Sunday school teacher called me aside to explain that I didn’t need to go forward every time.

He probably got tired of seeing my name on the new converts’ list!

As I prayed today, I remembered that night about 17 years ago, and I am grateful for a God who found me before I knew how to search for Him.

I walk with God, precept by precept.

Not rushing ahead of Him.
Not lagging behind in fear.
Not insisting on seeing the whole picture before I take the next step.

I walk with Him, one instruction at a time, one revelation at a time, one act of obedience at a time.

For I understand that the beauty of walking with God is not in knowing every detail of the journey but in knowing the One who leads me.

Precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10

I may not know everything He has planned, but I will follow every instruction He gives.

One step at a time.
One yes at a time.
One day at a time.

My life will be a testament to what happens when a woman learns to walk with God.

Why do no one talk about postpartum edge shedding!
I have add to cut off some of the locs at my edges because of how they are thinning out.

On a journey to grow them out and hopefully reattach if I don’t loose the locs before then.

I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me as I was trying to clean the kitchen while pumping at midnight, and He brought to mind the different moments and things that were still worship even though I wouldn’t have described them as worship myself.

Maybe worship doesn’t always look like what we’ve been taught to recognise.

Sometimes, worship looks like caring for your baby when you’re exhausted.
Sometimes, it looks like resting.
Sometimes, it looks like letting the chores wait.
Sometimes, it’s a few mumbled words of prayer between motherhood’s demands.

This too is worship.
