💜 As we wrap up Domestic Violence Awareness Month The Love Quest Foundation founder @josaynemeant2be and Saving Our Tomorrow founder @armygirlsyn joined the Family Services Purple Walk To End Domestic Violence this week.

💜 Representatives and elected officials from Dutchess and Ulster counties along with agencies, survivors, advocates, family members and the community showed up in solidarity.

💜 We will highlight our experience and the awareness and prevention work on this week’s episode of @seepedandsavored on @uncommongospel

💜 Thank you to Lisa Kaul for stopping by to speak with us and giving us a shoutout as an attendee of our community events. It was good to catch up with our partners in service and meet new mission aligned collaborators.

💜 The mission continues. by @thelovequestfoundation

✨ I have been doing my homework for the Show Up Challenge by @coleenoteroceo to post daily for the entire month.

✨ There wasn’t a better month for this challenge…October our main awareness month for Domestic Violence Awareness.

✨ We brought it back to one part of our origin story, the Independent Study In Spanish Course that sparked the formation of our organization as a nonprofit organization based on our founder’s personal experience as a student in real time.

✨ Let this be a reminder that great things can start with an idea that is executed in motion and that it is never too early to start or too late to finish.

✨ You may also see the gaps in years over the course of our founder’s transcripts as she paused her studies to take care of her responsibilities and obtained her degree years later.

✨ This gap in time created lived experiences to be able to create our awareness and prevention campaigns and initiatives and equip the current and future generations.

✨ Onward and upward…four more days to go and 25 collective years and counting (including the 3 years prior doing the work)! by @thelovequestfoundation

💜 The Love Quest Foundation’s debut documentary titled, The Love Quest: A Healing Journey for Intergenerational Impact narrated by Roxanne Shanté has been an act of faith and a bold journey.

💜 Thank you @boldjourneymag for highlighting our story and @suginia_jones_says for recommending us and always giving us our flowers 💐 while we can smell them.

💜 We have not been on this journey alone. From our debut in Martha’s Vineyard partners like @suginia_jones_says of @thegardenhouseclub @valeisha of @aseedlife and our Emmy award-winning director @iamlamonique of @centrecreativeco our initial private screening was well received, the support has been amazing and we truly appreciate you.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Awareness and prevention is key along with culturally responsive approaches to help eradicate stigmas and statistics.

💜 Continue to be bold with us on this journey called The Love Quest and all the stops in between. Thank you to our sponsors, allies, advocates, family and friends who also support us and help amplify our work.

🇺🇸 The 2nd Annual Vets 4 The Arts Exhibition & Showcase was a success!

What an incredible celebration of art, music, creativity, and community! Featuring our live Jazz Ensemble, this year's showcase brought together veterans, families, young artists, and community members for an unforgettable evening.

A heartfelt thank you to the City of Poughkeepsie Youth Services Division and our valued partners, The Love Quest Foundation, Saving Our Tomorrow, and 1 Small Step Productions, for helping provide City of Poughkeepsie youth with paid work experience through our programs and showcases.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers for attending and for her continued support, along with members of the clergy and our local arts community.

A special thank you to the talented participants of Hip Hop Healing INC for performing alongside our Jazz Ensemble, and to our emerging young artists who created remarkable artwork live during the event!

Most importantly, thank you to every family, artist, musician, volunteer, and community member who joined us.

Together, we're creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and strengthening our community through the arts.

💜 Thank you to the young ladies and leaders of @gemms_inc for inviting The Love Quest Foundation’s founder @josaynemeant2be to host a private screening of our debut documentary during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

💜 Everyone was inspired and requested an encore for those who were unable to attend.

💜 We discussed red flags, warning signs, healthy relationships, positive aspirations for the present and future along with potential arts and culture collaborations.

💜 Continue to shine your light as your mantra says because your futures are bright ✨✨✨ by @thelovequestfoundation

✨ The Journey continues….

✨ I had the honor of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Vin Baker Outdoor Athletics & Recreation Complex today.

✨ Former University of Hartford Men’s Basketball Player and current Miami Heat Coach Vin Baker shared his journey with fellow alumni, student athletes, staff, family and friends. It was all too familiar and it resonated.

✨ We are both alumni and former college student athletes.
✨ We both have similar faith backgrounds.
✨ We both had moments of highs and lows.
✨ We both still roll with our day one’s & those who feel like it
✨ We both mentor youth and continue to do the work.

✨ It was great connecting with old friends @bella_bougie729 meeting new one’s @mr_xrc as well as engaging with students, student athletes, coaches and university administration, faculty and staff. Its always great seeing University of Hartford President @uhartpreslpw

💜 Last year’s HBCU College and University Tour as part of our combined immersive experience and college tour included a stop at Clark Atlanta University where we attended homecoming.

💜 Katalina our youth participant was able to connect with prospective students and alumni as she prepared for a career in nursing.

💜 We also attended “We Got You Sis” produced by @aseedlife founded by CAU Alumna and Board of Trustee member Valeisha Butterfield in partnership with BET.

💜 We are grateful to our partners and alumni who provide these amazing opportunities, mentor and pour back into our youth. It truly makes a difference.

💜 Congrats to Poughkeepsie Middle School Principal and County Legislator for your recent 40 under 40 honor at @cau1988

💜 Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of CAU senior Morgan Gamble. by @thelovequestfoundation

💜 Colleges and Universities are currently in the spotlight for incidents ranging from Title 9 to barriers to civic engagement.

💜 The Love Quest Foundation keeps issues of this nature at the forefront as part of our annual awareness and prevention campaigns and initiatives.

💜 Last year we sponsored our HBCU, College and University tours that included Howard University, Morgan State University and Georgetown University.

💜 During each stop they noticed considerable differences from the highlighted courses of study, the diversity of the student body to the infrastructure.

💜 The constant was the understanding of what healthy relationships are and the immediate independence they will gain after graduation.

💜 These eye opening experiences are crucial to ensure they know how to stay safe and what to look out for.

💜 Some of our youth participants are currently on various campuses with a few rising seniors right behind them. We are always here to continue to help mentor and share our lived experiences along the way.

💜 Onward and upward is our hope for all of them during these challenging times. by @thelovequestfoundation

💜 As we wrap up the month of October we are sharing more of our awareness and prevention initiatives as our youth participants prepare for their post secondary endeavors.

💜 Our College tours like the one we took to Howard University is mission aligned and is the impetus of our organization.

💜 Exposure to academic pathways while sharing the 101’s of intimate partner violence and how to be equipped to detect warning signs and red flags are all part of the conversation.

💜 Thank you to @el_of_avalor for taking the time to share your experience as a @howard1867 student with our youth participants.

💜 Special thank you to @goldenmuva00 of @youthonamission1_ and @thelovequestfoundation and Dr. @nikkijaneelee for partnering with us on this HBCU immersive experience

💜 Tomorrow we will share our recap at Georgetown University. by @thelovequestfoundation

💜 It’s a wrap on our recap of The Love Quest Foundation’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity series.

💜 A few key takeaways: Music is a universal language, follow up is key, remember your why and even though it was fun it was a business trip.

💜 We are able to offer these immersive experiences at no cost to our participants with the support of our partner organizations, individual donors and sponsors.

💜 Find out how you can create full circle opportunities like this one and others through the link in our bio, info@thelovequestfoundation.org and thelovequestfoundation.org by @thelovequestfoundation

Josayne Anderson-Tejera helps young people see what’s possible beyond their immediate surroundings. Through The Love Quest Foundation in Poughkeepsie, she combines hands-on work experience, travel, and college readiness with education about healthy relationships, drawing on her own experience with intimate partner violence.

Her work is part of HUDSY’s 250 Acts of Positive Change, sharing the ways our neighbors create opportunity and care for one another across the Hudson Valley.

💜 Day 5 of 6 of our recap of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity with Elena O. Elena runs down who she met and her overall full circle moments.

💜 Our youth participants and students build their portfolios in real time during our immersive experiences, workforce development and college tours.

💜 Their portfolios can be used for their post secondary endeavors whether they attend a college or trade school, go straight into the workforce or serve our country.

💜 It’s all about having options while learning about lifesaving resources through our awareness and prevention initiatives.

💜 Stay tuned for our final wrap up video tomorrow. Additional clips are available on our youtube page. by @thelovequestfoundation
