AUCTION BUYERS GUIDE: How to bid in the auction on and other helpful guidelines Note: This is happening ONLY on @themacadamien and no other account. If someone hits you up from another account saying you need to give them information or money or anything suspicious, it’s a scam. ONLY HERE! So, what is the Friends Everywhere Auction? This is a 24-hour auction hosted right here on Instagram! 16 different artists will have one piece of original work up for bidding. Why am I doing this? I LOVE artists. I’m always looking for simple ways to help them, and this is a completely free and fun way for them to get their work shown (and maybe even sold!) Who can bid? Anyone! As long as you live in the US, Mexico, or Canada, you can bid on any piece you see. I’m working on identifying some good shipping options for international art, and hopefully the next auction we can have more of you participate! How bidding works: 1. Spot a piece you like in the post 2. Check the letter it’s labeled with 3. Type the letter and your bid price in the comments! More on how bidding works: * When placing a bid, check the comments first. If someone has already bid on that item, reply to their comment with your bid! The highest bid anywhere in the comments section wins, so don’t accidentally get outbid by not checking!
 * You can bid as many times as you want on as many works as you want. Go ham!
 * For every bid you win, you wiIl have 48 hours to pay for your item, shipping fees included. I will be connecting you with the artist via a DM chat. Make sure to follow @themacadamien and the artist in question so you don’t miss those messages. And as a bonus special gift, all winning bids will get a FREE sticker + pin from yours truly! Exclusive only to this first volume! Bidding starts Thursday Oct. 8th 7pm CST, and ends Friday Oct. 9th 7pm CST. Support artists! Get cool art! Thank you so much for wanting to be a part of this!!! 🥹 - Brought to you by The Friends Everywhere Auction by @themacadamien

I've been thinking a lot about the world that we're rapidly moving towards. The world that we're in right now. I'm seeing a lot of artists express the fears, the very valid fears, of being replaced by AI. I'm seeing a lot of people not be able to get jobs or lose gigs because an AI can “do it cheaper.” But I'm not seeing a lot of people reminding artists that there has never been a better time to dig deep and truly feel. To scrape the very depths of their humanity and their soul from dormancy. I was always a fearful and worrying child growing up. And my mother would always quote something from the Bible to try and encourage me: "The devil rules with fear, and fear is not of God." Artists are divine beings tapping into divine creative energy. So instead of fear, we must employ bravery. Courage. Persistence. And an understanding that the messiest parts of our humanity are what makes us humans and not robots. That’s what separates us entirely. Do not try to be perfect. Do not try to avoid mistakes. Do not try to paint yourself as able. Do the complete opposite. Intentionally fuck up, and zig while the whole world zags. Be the artist you’ve been avoiding your entire life. Humanity depends on it. #humanity #ai by @themacadamien

Stats Recap!! 📈 These are the stats following the Friends Everywhere auction that I just hosted on my page! I love that this is a way to combine engagement from a bunch of artists accounts to benefit the whole. I think this is a great thing you can do by yourself. But I challenge you to host one of these with other artists! Or, be on the lookout for the next Friends Everywhere Auction!! #artists #artauction by @themacadamien
I’ve been thinking a ton about AI lately, and how it plays a part, if any, in my creative future. Like, how can my friendship philosophy and artist advocacy hold any water if I use AI knowing that it’s being used for war? To surveil our neighbors? To steal from artists? To literally create CSAM?? And, as more and more of our work gets pushed towards it, what happens when the day comes where I can’t actually eat if I don’t use it? How do I reconcile that I voluntarily decided not to be able to keep up in the market if it comes to that? These are the things I think about incessantly. This is where AI has placed a lot of us. “Join, or die.” These are also the times when conviction matters the most. I would absolutely say that I’m currently in a period of earning my conviction about AI. I can only continue to pray to God that I can find ways to live, make money, and bring about the change I want to see without dependence on AI. Even if it is a harder path. If that is what my earned convictions about my mission to bring people together requires, that’s just what it requires. What I can promise you all is that I will never seek perfection: I will seek purpose. Im going to continue make mistakes, but I’ll put my movements where my mouth is to make sure I’m on the right path. - Dame by @themacadamien
I promise you anything I can make in Figma is going to look better than your AI flyers 🫠 And that’s saying something because I’m not even a professional designer. I know that even having this AI art conversation is going to distance some people from me. Because many of you are going to say, "Dame, you should know this. You should know that there's a line in the sand about AI." And to that I say, you're right. It’s also a line in the sand that I am still fighting to EARN conviction on. I'm one of those "early adopters" of new technology. When ChatGPT dropped, I was absolutely one of the first people to sign up. As someone whose ideas tend to be all over the place or who has been sitting on answers for things that I haven't been able to find through resources or access to people with that knowledge, ChatGPT felt like the breakthrough that I've always needed for my ideas. I even built a personal website which you can still see linked to in my profile. Finally ideas that would’ve cost me tens of thousands of dollars to bring to life were just… here. It felt like technology that had finally “caught up” to the speed of my imaginations and visions. So remember the Readi app I spoke about building? Well, I stopped building it. Because I started feeling all of the guilt around my own level of hypocrisy with AI. On one side of my brain, I know that AI is just code. We wouldn’t be talking here if not for code. But I also know that the PUSH behind AI is what is completely detrimental to our existence as human beings: the environmental damage, the propaganda, the lack of regulation. I'm not saying I no longer believe there's any place for AI. I still think that there's a good case for using local AI models for business and to handle logistics and automation. But where things are right now, I feel like I both can't talk smack about people using AI and use it at the same time. And I definitely cant talk sht in small business owners who might literally not know any better if I don’t give an alternative solution. So yeah. If you need a flyer… just let me know lol. - Dame by @themacadamien
Update: Honestly? Tag ANY working creator/artist/designer you know! They don’t even have to be super “high level” (truthfully I don’t even know what high level means lol). If they have found a level of success that works for them, I want to talk to them. Connect your boy!!!!! by @themacadamien
That’s it yall! Bidding has CLOSED for the first ever Friends Everywhere Auction! WOW what an experience! 🥹 Thank you to the amazing artists who trusted me with their work!
