POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m the proud daughter of a daughter of 13 children, a lineage and birthright I carry in everything I create.

The making of Maiden took place in Beulaville, North Carolina. The aesthetic is rooted in my upbringing, in the women I grew up watching. The daughters, the mothers, the in between. The ones becoming, questioning, finding their place. I studied you closely.

We shot in the house my grandfather built, on my family’s land, and I’m still taking in that I was able to bring an idea I’ve had for years to life there.

This film would not exist without my family.

To my uncles and cousins, thank you for rallying around me and believing in my vision. For opening your land, your farms, your trucks, your time, and your energy to bring this story to life.

To my aunts, thank you for helping me connect with the heart of Beulaville, for reminding me that community is everything.

To my baby cousins, who stepped in as actors, rode horses, and showed out with so much natural talent and joy… you made this world feel alive.

To my family who showed up beautifully and glamorously to bring my Easter dinner vision to life, y’all didn’t just participate, you elevated it.

And to my mother, who I called every hour, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, finding sponsors, solving problems, and holding me down through it all… this is as much yours as it is mine.

From North Carolina soil to the screen. Southern through and through 🤍.

Legacy lives in the hands of mothers and daughters — carried through stories, sacrifice, and love that outlasts generations. But with that inheritance comes the weight of expectation, and the question of whether to uphold it or break free. MAIDEN is a MFA thesis film, set in North Carolina, following a daughter, her mother, and an unexpected lover in a tender romance drama. We’re thrilled to launch our Seed&Spark campaign and can’t wait to bring you along on this journey. With an incredible team behind the project, we’re ready to bring this vision to life — help support us today as we bring this story to the screen! LINK IN BIO :)
