Allow me to introduce myself to my IG besties 🎙️

All of the formalities aside, here are some actual fun facts about me – Let me know if we are long lost soulmates when reading any of these!

1. I love a filthy Hendricks martini with extra olives or a big glass of red wine (but only one…you could probably bully me into two…because we have an early AM pilates class and need to hit the farmer’s market)
2. Give me all the spicy food! Being from the south, I like to think of myself as a hot sauce connoisseur and I will absolutely 3x the recommended seasoning ingredients on any recipe.
3. I am a professional yapper. Send me a DM on here? Be ready to become besties. See me in public and dare to say hi? You better be ready to sit on the floor at Anthropologie to tell me your life story.
4. Your girl has lore for days. Seriously, I have lived several lives. Back when I was dating, a guy said I was a jack in the box because he never knew what unexpected story would come next. My husband concurs. Maybe I’ll write a book or just overshare on a podcast… who knows?
5. I am a boy mom to the most precious rainbow baby. Becoming a mom has made me realize parents are real-life superheroes and how not everyone’s journey to becoming a parent is easy peasy. While uncomfortable, I try to be open about losing my first pregnancy and postpartum struggles so other mamas don’t feel alone.

Dare I say that it is easy enough to put it all together during your toddler’s nap time and take down Halloween night so you can throw up your Christmas tree !!!

When it comes to decorating for spooky season, I am pretty no fuss and here is how I create the Halloween magic at home without overcomplicating it!

- Seasonal candles: Scent sets the mood and I am basic and love a pumpkin scent this time of the year
- Seasonal hues: Swap throw pillows for ones with moodier color ways like bronzes, browns, and burgundies
- Fall stems: Go foraging with your little ones for some fall stems yourself or opt for faux foliage in your favorite vessel
- Add a spooky element to your art: I added black cheesecloth to my art for a web effect with some iron bats and woven spiders (picked them up from Amazon - lmk if you want the link)

Now y’all might be like, “Whitney, how does your son not touch everything?” And tbh he hates our spooky Frankenstein decor so I just put it in front of the areas I don’t want him touching … 12/10 mom hack if you ask me!

As the CEO of Magic Making 🪄 in our household, I did all the research on how to create a fun Halloween boo basket for your little one without all the junk… so you don’t have to!

My tried and true formula that both you and your toddler will love … Swap the items you use everyday for something more seasonal! Think their favorite snacks in fall colors or shapes, seasonal books and pajamas, a fun water cup, and a bath toy and some fall scented bubbles!

With the coziest hosting months coming up, we wanted to make sure our powder room was in top shape for our guests, so we did one of our favorite easy and inexpensive home upgrades - seriously it takes less than 5 minutes! (We love this little project so much, we did it in our primary bathroom a few months ago!)

We gave our powder bathroom a little upgrade with @broannutone Magnetic Universal CleanCover because our old fan cover was looking a bit outdated. We are so happy with the seamless install and how it looks that we just had to share it with y’all!
