I am so excited to share with you that I have been invited by the amazing @santafeworkshops to present an online workshop coming up this October

This will be an in-depth two session workshop on Saturday October 17 and 24, 2026- Link in my bio to register

COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this deeply personal and inspiring new online program, multidisciplinary artist Linda Plaisted shares her creative renaissance after tragedy and the journey back to artistic expression through photography, collage, and mixed media arts. Together, Linda and her workshop participants explore creativity not only as a form of artistic practice but as a tool for healing, resilience, and transformation.

Blending personal storytelling, creative guidance, and practical reflection, the two sessions center on reconnecting with artistic purpose and rediscovering the “why” behind the work. Together, we explore ways to move through fear, perfectionism, creative shutdown, and self-doubt, while embracing experimentation, vulnerability, and play as necessary parts of the creative process.

Through immersive exercises, reflective prompts, and group discussions, we consider how meaningful work often emerges through risk-taking, curiosity, and the willingness to make imperfect work along the way. Linda shares how daily creative devotion helped transform grief and emotional upheaval into a renewed and prolific artistic practice rooted in authenticity and personal voice.

Using examples from several of her layered narrative series, Linda walks through her creative process from ideation and experimentation to completed photographic and mixed media works. Alongside photography, we explore how collage, painting, and drawing can expand visual storytelling and deepen conceptual development within a body of work.

At the core is the belief that vulnerability and honesty within the creative process not only transform the work itself but also create connection, healing, and possibility. Through reflection, conversation, and creative exploration, space opens to reconnect with artistic instinct, creative courage, and the act of making without fear. by @themanymuses

Working with my hands today on another round of my signed mini print handmade ornaments. I love making these- they force me to slow down, unplug and be present as I pierce each print with holes- that’s how the light gets in. I then mend each wound with gold dust in the style of Japanese Kintsugi- honoring the places in us where we have been broken and healed.

If you’d like to collect a little piece of my art, these “Lightcatchers” are linked in my bio and on my website. They’re a small reminder to help you stay focused on the light in these dark times. by @themanymuses

Happy to be part of this book project with @gempepper whereby I did a little writing inspired by a random found photo. I took bits and pieces of real stories from my childhood and wove them into this new tale. Thanks for inviting me to play along Gemma! by @themanymuses

Reason to Believe, 2026

New Series- Solastalgia

This feeling of nostalgia for what once was and profound sadness for what has been irretrievably altered has a name: Solastalgia. Coined by philosopher Glenn Albrecht, it is the emotional distress caused by environmental change- Essentially, the feeling of being homesick while still at home. The Latin solacium, meaning comfort, is combined with the Greek root –algia, meaning pain. A place, once a source of comfort, being stolen along with one’s sense of security, safety and identity. Like a bereavement, solastalgia is a feeling of emotional disorientation to changes in the environment and a sense of grief at what is being lost even as we look on.

Despite the pain of this feeling, there is hope. Solastalgia reminds us of the intrinsic value of nature and the importance of stewardship. When we acknowledge our grief and channel it into positive action, we empower ourselves to fight for the lands we love, transforming our sorrow into tangible steps toward change. Our bonds with nature are resilient and worth nurturing for future generations. by @themanymuses

Another something new coming in from the ether… #fineartphotography #illustration #fox #underground by @themanymuses

I fought with my lumbering old imac all day trying to get some new work finished to no avail. So I checked out and went on a country drive. Yes I took the obligatory fall foliage shots, but I was more drawn to the contrasts I found this time of year in Maryland by @themanymuses

Felt like I needed to make something pared down and simple right now to find some clarity. It has been a long year and far from over yet. by @themanymuses

I was so busy with workshop prep that I hadn't created any new work for a few weeks and it was starting to make me feel cranky. Feeling something quiet stirring underground... by @themanymuses
