It’s so hard to be everyone’s light, and be your own too.

📸 @directedbyjoel @joel.wikstrom

My new Single “Capacity” talks through my process of slowly implementing boundaries that allowed me to promote self care and alone time with God.

I started re-prioritising my life after graduation, and this meant making sure God was my foundation, rather than the need to be accepted by others and trying to fit in. I was fearful of close ones leaving, so It was hard for me to say no to tasks that overstepped my boundaries. I was scared saying no would change my position in their life, or their perception of me. I was living for others rather than nurturing the light within myself…

I knew that if I didn’t begin strengthening my faith, I would find myself running from my problems and resenting others for my choices to people please. If this sounds familiar to your own journey, I encourage you to focus on the small light deep within and nurture it. Soon you will realise healthy practises for your life and a peace you cannot live without.
