Can I make another Frost Guard Crochet Balaclava in time for the game? Stick around and find out! Want to make one too? Say yes and I will send you the link. ⭐️ https://marlybird.com/frost-guard-crochet-balaclava-pattern/ by @themarlybird
You’ve seen the balaclava… now let’s go yarn shopping! 🧶🛒 Say YES and we’ll send the Frost Guard Crochet Balaclava pattern link to your DMs! Come along to @michaelsstores with me while I pick out yarn… then stick around to see it go from “ooh, pretty cake!” to a finished balaclava. If only every project worked up as fast as a reel transition. 😂 We used @yarnspirations Caron Macchiato Cakes for this pattern, and honestly? You can’t go wrong with those color choices. The hardest part is choosing ONE. Apparently “I’ll take the whole shelf” is not a shopping strategy. Who knew? You can also use another bulky weight yarn that meets the pattern gauge! If you need a little color inspiration, pop into the Marly’s Minions Facebook group. Besties are sharing their versions, and seeing everyone’s yarn choices is half the fun! Which color would make it into your cart? 👀 https://marlybird.com/frost-guard-crochet-balaclava-pattern/ by @themarlybird
Would YOU use your cruise ship bed as a blocking board?! 😂🧶🚢 Because apparently I have reached the point in my knitting career where I look at a perfectly good bed and think… “OH! That would make a GREAT blocking surface!” 😂🙌 Listen… knitters make things WORK! I brought this unfinished shawl with me on my cruise aboard the Scarlet Lady, and I actually finished knitting it within the first couple of days! But here’s the problem… I wanted to WEAR IT while I was on the ship! And that beautiful edging needed a little attention before it was ready for its big debut. Did I bring my blocking mats? NOPE. Blocking wires? HA! Did I have a bed, a steamer from the ship, and a whole lot of determination? YOU BET I DID! 😂 So I got creative, used the bed as my blocking surface, and gave that edging the steam treatment it needed. And BESTIE… LOOK AT THOSE RESULTS! 😍🧶 I’m SO HAPPY with how this shawl turned out! In fact, it has already become one of my favorite things to wear on this trip. I’ve worn it inside the ship. I’ve worn it outside on deck. I’ve worn it to dinner. I’ve even worn it out PARTYING! 💃🚢 Who says a handmade shawl can’t do it ALL?! There’s something so satisfying about finishing a project, giving it that final bit of attention, and then immediately getting to enjoy wearing it. Especially when you’re somewhere fabulous in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! 🌊❤️ Now I have TWO very important questions for my knitting and crochet besties… 🧶 Do you bring projects with you on cruises or vacations? 😂 And would YOU ever use your hotel or cruise ship bed to block a finished project? Because I’m pretty sure I’m not the only maker who has looked around a room and thought… “I can make this work!” 😂 Tell me in the comments! I want to hear your most creative blocking stories! by @themarlybird

“But would I actually wear a balaclava?” Well, bestie… have you ever been somewhere beautiful and wished your jacket had a hood? 😂 Say YES for the link to your DM’s. Here I am on a sailboat in Spain, enjoying the sunset and sipping sangria with my Cozy Sideline Knit Balaclava along for the ride. Wear it down around your neck, then pull the hood up when you want a little extra warmth. No heading inside and missing the good stuff! Think morning walks, evenings around the fire, cheering from the sidelines… or apparently drinking sangria on a sailboat. My knitting has quite the social life. 🍷⛵ It’s the perfect little accessory to tuck into your bag for your next outing. Want to knit your own? The pattern includes five sizes, and buying through my Shopify store gives you the downloadable PDF plus an automatic upgrade to the premium pattern in the Marly Bird House with step-by-step video tutorials. Where would you wear yours? https://shop.marlybird.com/products/cozy-sideline-knit-balaclava-pdf by @themarlybird
When you’re the designer and the photoshoot plan is “put on ALL the handmade things.” 😂 Say PATTERN for the Double Dip Hat pattern information, and the link will be sent to your DMs. But can we talk about this hot pink hat for a second? That braid-like texture comes from the dip stitch, and it looks much trickier than it is. If you’re an adventurous beginner ready to try something new, I’ve got a video tutorial to walk you through it. It uses one skein of worsted weight yarn, and yes, the giant pom pom is optional. Would you make yours with the pom or without? https://marlybird.com/blog/ribbed-knit-hat-free-pattern/ by @themarlybird
My New Beginnings Knit Cowl made it to Barcelona… and yes, it earned its spot in my suitcase! 🧶🇪🇸 Say YES for the pattern link ❤️ Want to make one of your own? This premium pattern is inside the Marly Bird House, with full written instructions, mosaic charts, and step-by-step video tutorials for the entire project. I’m right there to help you from beginning to end! You know those accessories you put on for a little extra warmth, then realize they’re what makes the whole outfit work? This is one of those. I’m wearing mine while exploring Barcelona, and it’s the perfect way to layer without hauling around a big, bulky scarf. More room in the suitcase for yarn… just saying. 😉 And if you’re looking at that mosaic and thinking, “Marly, can I do that?”… bestie, that’s why we have the videos! You can follow along with me as you make your own. Choose colors that go with everything, or colors that make you smile every time you pull it on. What colors would YOU use? 💕 https://marlybird.thrivecart.com/nye-countdown-25-knit/ by @themarlybird
Say YES, and I’ll send you a link in your DMs to buy the Cozy Sideline Knit Balaclava pattern in my Shopify store! 🧶✈️ They loved my Cozy Sideline Balaclava so much… they took it. 😳 Okay, okay… the overhead compartments were full, so they had to check my carry-on. And my balaclava was IN the carry-on. But technically… THEY TOOK IT. 😂 Can you blame them? It’s a hat, a cowl, and that “I wish this jacket had a hood” solution all wrapped into one cozy knit. Make one for yourself, then get ready for everyone else to request one, too! When you buy the pattern through my Shopify store, you get the downloadable PDF AND an automatic upgrade to the premium pattern in the Marly Bird House, with video tutorials to help you along. 💙 Just maybe keep yours in your personal bag when you fly. Lesson learned. 🤣 https://shop.marlybird.com/products/cozy-sideline-knit-balaclava-pdf by @themarlybird

And besties, your purchase now comes with a little extra goodness! 🎉 When you buy the pattern through Shopify, you get the downloadable PDF from Shopify AND an automatic upgrade to the premium pattern inside the Marly Bird House, where you can find the pattern and video tutorials together. No separate upgrade purchase needed! This is the project that turns practically any jacket into a hood… and makes chilly walks, sidelines, and “I’m just running outside for a minute” a whole lot cozier. 💙 What color are you making first? Sometimes all it takes is a little yarn, a hook… and suddenly you have the layer you want to wear ALL SEASON. 😍🧶 👇 Say PATTERN and I’ll send you the pattern information in a DM or email! The Creekside Crochet Ruana is one of those pieces you throw on once and immediately understand why people love it. It’s oversized. It’s textured. It’s comfy. It has POCKETS. 🙌😂 And it gives you that easy, relaxed cardigan feel without being a traditional sweater. This is the kind of piece you can wear with jeans and a tee, leggings, a dress, or whatever else is already in your closet. It works for cool mornings, chilly evenings, fall layering… basically all those times when you want a little extra cozy without feeling bundled up. And if you’re the kind of crocheter who likes a project with plenty to keep your hands interested, Creekside has that too. Beautiful texture, special stitches, and a finished piece that feels every bit as good as it looks. I have a feeling this is going to become one of those patterns you make once and then think… “Okay… but what if I made another one in a DIFFERENT COLOR?” 😂 Get the Creekside Crochet Ruana pattern here: https://shop.marlybird.com/products/creekside-crochet-ruana-pattern by @themarlybird
No matter WHICH WAY you look at it… the Chill Guard Knit Balaclava is pretty darn AMAZING. 😍🧶 Front view? CUTE. Side view? CUTE. Hood up? CUTE. Hood down around your neck? STILL CUTE. 😂 👇 Say PATTERN and I’ll send you the pattern information in your DMs! This is exactly why I’ve been having so much fun with the Chill Guard. It’s not just a hat. It’s not just a cowl. It’s not just a hood. It’s that magical little combination of ALL THREE that you can actually wear the way you need it throughout the day. Cold? Hood goes up. ❄️ Warm up a little? Hood comes down and hangs comfortably around your neck. And the best part? NO HAT HAIR. 🙌😂 I designed the Chill Guard so you get that cozy hooded look without covering your face or blocking your peripheral vision. It’s functional, comfortable, fashionable… and ridiculously cute from pretty much every angle. So yes, I’m going to say it… No matter which way you look at it, the Chill Guard is a WINNER. 🧶❤️ Now I want to know… what COLOR would you knit yours? https://marlybird.com/chill-guard-knit-balaclava-pattern/ by @themarlybird
The Chill Guard deserves some love too! With nearly 4000 patterns sold of the Frost Guard, maybe I should show the Chill Guard more? Here is one k made with Patons Classic Wool. Say YES for the pattern link! https://marlybird.com/chill-guard-knit-balaclava-pattern/ by @themarlybird
