Started the day with Dug asking if I want to come and run in the park with him! Dug is 100% the personality of my Golden Henry and I wore him and Rose on my hat to Animal kingdom this am. The way Dug patted me on the back like a good human was the best! Change my mind, Dug is the best, he wouldn’t let me leave. by @themartintales

London Marathon finish line Friday. To the friends that told me it wouldn’t be my last or afterwards challenges me as to why I wanted to stop marathons. Than you. A 1 hour 19 second PB in the marathon to close the gap between what I had trained for and what I had not achieved yet. Running for charity for
@battersea was my why. But now I’ve fallen in love with running and the marathon and I guess I’ll keep on going with them. I didn’t want the race to end. Not one bit. I didn’t know my time until I looked at the clock. I glance at my watch for current real time pace, check in with my mind on how I feel- look at the words I wrote on my arm to keep my cruising but I had no knowledge of the time. But when I saw the time, I was proud of me. At my home marathon. At the best sporting event in the world. Many helped me get here, but the work was my own and I earned this and I’m damn proud of it. Thank you all- hope to see you again next year….tell me what marathon you think I should do next 👀 cause I hadn’t planned on any. by @themartintales

This is for me. One of my strongest beliefs that I hold tightly to is that one day in heaven, we will see the animals we love again as it will be filled with all things good and all things that make us happy.

Sweet Louis, will be missed. He was loved.

Every cat and dog deserves the best opportunity for life. I tried to give him that until his very last breath.

I found him this morning as I walked out with the dogs. He would normally have jumped off the bench but didn’t. I thought it was just a deep sleep, he looked so cozy. But when I checked a few mins later it was clear he was not well. He was unconscious but breathing. I swaddled him up, holding him for the first time ever, as Jorge the other orange stray and his sister Diana watched on. As I held him he still was breathing but would have seizures. I finally decided to drive him to the emergency vet. It’s hard being the one to make decisions however I’m aware that that responsibility is mine. I asked to have him back so I could hold him. And as I did, in his final breaths he purred for the first time. I know purring can mean many things. Louis was unconscious and I believe with every part of my soul that he was saying thank you and simultaneously soothing himself and me. His final breaths were love. From a cat, that you would look at and think didn’t like humans. Who wouldn’t let me touch him or pet him. But cats don’t think like humans. It’s been a hard morning. As I sit and write this Jorge is curled up in a chair next to me and Diana is staying close. Louis has taught me a lot. I will miss him but never forget him. by @themartintales

Chasing the good times whilst chasing the good times. No sporting experience will match this London Mararhon experience. My cousins lining the streets of London and cheering their hearts out.
Way more to come I’m sure, but this is what I was looking forward to the most, my family who I see once a year or two if that. Love you guys. Oh side note- you helped raise £2,710 or $3,670.42 for @battersea Cats and Dogs home, I decided to forego the team vest as I didn’t want to chafe in a shirt new to me, jokes on me. Hahahah. Ty so much for your donations!! by @themartintales

Cheers @lelahvay for being brave enough to photograph my pups and myself under a tornado watch with my unkempt hair that needs to get cut. I love these pics of them Ty! - I know one day in the future I will love them even more. Felt a little odd to not be the photographer, but here we are, I will never regret taking them. Love how Henry always watches me, such a loyal pup, and Rose, wants to sniff and belly rub. My latest original Lego Disney build is complete. Frozen came out when my daughter was 3 so it has played a significant role in our lives, with LEGO, the first real MOC I built was Elsa’s ice palace, a little raw and amateurish but still something I was proud of. Still some of our fav character interactions at the parks and having now run a marathon as Kristoph and proposed to Anna during it, the last 3-4 visits to Disneyworld has been spending moments in Norway and doing the Frozen show in HS and ride in Epcot, trying to pick up on little things as I worked on completing this new Frozen build. I actually plan to work on Arrendelle, but I knew I had to have a reworked Elsa’s Ice Palace as a main part of the display as every kid would ask ‘where is Elsa’. It stands at 3ft tall and weighs 75pounds. I’m super pleased with it, building the Ice palace with only Light blue clear transparent or clear transparent LEGO bricks was quite the challenge. I had originally wanted to skip the rockwork but it not only frames the castle but is an integral part of the story and the palace so I couldn’t. I tried to get away with just a mosaic or something in the background but realized I had to go full commit on it or nothing. Rock-work is my least fav LEGO technique but we got her complete. Here’s me. Literally finishing and looking at my largest most ambitious build to date for the first time.

Half way into setting up, I hit a snag, there was a .01% lean in the middle structure. Even that small a variance can’t happen. So off to the local hobby store to get wood to build a flat board for it to sit on.

These pics show the very moment I ‘lit’ the castle for the first time. I didn’t know if it would work. I hadn’t tested it fully, I hadn’t even had the castle assembled fully. But I trusted in everything that it would.

Why is it lit blue? The castle from the OG Cinderella movie was mostly seen in moonlight. That’s the most common depiction of it. So I had to do it. There is not lego pieces in the right colour to do it, and even so I think that would not look right. Last year I put a story out here on insta asking for thoughts and someone suggested ‘painting it with light’ like Disney does. This aided in providing some forced perspective when viewing at child’s eye level, with it darker blue at the bottom and lighter up top, another Disney magic trick. I was pleased how it turned out.

I didn’t think I would ever get this project started let alone finished. It’s my fav build to date, thank you all who came to see it in Atlanta, it will be on display in Birmingham AL in May and Tampa in August.
