Today I had to make the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make 💔 I’m absolutely heartbroken.. by @themauhouseltd

After everything they’ve survived, they still choose love. Please help them get seen ❤️

UAE cats have to navigate heat, abandonment, cruelty, poisoning and black market breeding.

We rescue and rehome them because they deserve safety, care and a real chance at life.

If you’re seeing this, please tap, like, comment and share - the more our socials get seen the more cats we can help. Every little bit of engagement boosts them to someone who may not of heard of us or what we do.

Thank you so much. by @themauhouseltd

If you can, a like, follow, share or comment would help boost our page into other people’s feeds so we are seen more ♥️ thank you ♥️ by @themauhouseltd

Happy Halloween! 🎃 by @themauhouseltd

A little update on our lovely Wilson ❤️‍🩹

Some of you may notice that Wilson is currently missing from the café. A few days ago, our wonderful staff were quick to notice that he wasn’t quite himself. Thankfully, their quick thinking meant Wilson received urgent veterinary attention.

He’s now resting at home with me, where he’s being closely monitored and getting plenty of love and care.

There are a few possible outcomes at this stage, and we’re still waiting to see how things progress, but we’ve got absolutely everything crossed that our lovely boy makes a full recovery as soon as possible. 🤞🏻

❤️ We really need your help with Wilson’s veterinary bills.

His urgent treatment and ongoing care come at a significant cost to our little rescue, and we’re asking our wonderful community to please donate towards his treatment.

If you’re able to spare even a few pounds, please consider donating today using the Linktree below. Every donation goes towards helping us give Wilson the care he needs and the best possible chance of recovery.

If you can’t donate, sharing this post would also mean so much to us.

Thank you for helping us look after our lovely boy. ❤️

A little honest update from behind the scenes 🩷

I don’t think anyone is under the illusion that running a small business is easy, especially at the moment. Everyone is feeling the financial pinch, and seeing so many other cat cafés closing their doors recently has definitely been playing on my mind.

I’ve had a really difficult few months personally, and when things get overwhelming, I have a terrible habit of burying my head in the sand. But unfortunately, the emails, messages, bills and endless to-do lists don’t disappear just because I ignore them.

Right now, I’m at a bit of a crossroads.

On 1st November, I have the option to give notice on our lease, which would mean closing The Mau House in April 2027.

Do I want to? Absolutely not.

I’ve spent three years pouring everything into this place, sacrificing more than most people will ever see. But the reality is, the café doesn’t make money. I have three children to feed, bills to pay and I’m constantly questioning whether the financial and mental stress is sustainable anymore.

I genuinely don’t know what the right decision is, and I think either way a part of me will feel like I’ve failed.

But for now, I’m not giving up.

I’m trying to find my feet again, get some exciting events running, make changes to our menu and hopefully turn things around. It’s just difficult to find that motivation when your own mental health is struggling too.

I’m not posting this for sympathy, just to be honest about where things stand. Running a business isn’t always what it looks like on social media.

If you’d like to support us, whether that’s visiting, booking an event, donating or simply sharing our posts, you’ll find everything through the link in our bio.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and our rescue cats. I really hope this isn’t the end of our story. 🩷🐾 by @themauhouseltd
