I’ve been really rubbish at keeping up with social media lately, and if I’m honest, life has completely derailed me for a while.

We all know I’m an oversharer 😂 but the truth is I’d been feeling really down for a long time. I could pretend everything was fine, but the pressure of home life, running a business and being a mum just became too much.

The last few months have brought some massive changes in my personal life. Change is terrifying, but I’m a huge believer that what’s meant for you will find you and that struggles are there to teach us, not punish us.

Sometimes dragging yourself out of the mud feels impossible, but there really is no other option. You keep moving. And I finally feel like I’m finding my feet again. 🩷

So I’m going to work hard to get back on top of our social media and show you more of what actually goes on behind the scenes here.

Thankfully, the six weeks holidays were busy enough for me to replace the café floor AGAIN… third floor in three years 😂 But as every small business owner knows, the second you feel like you’re getting somewhere, the bills swallow it straight back up.

I’m also approaching a really important point with the café. I have a break clause which means I could give notice in November to leave next April and I genuinely don’t know what the right decision is.

I’ve worked unbelievably hard for this place, sacrificed so much, helped hundreds of cats and built a community I’m incredibly proud of. But the constant worry, stress and anxiety of keeping a small business afloat is exhausting.

So over the next few months, we’re giving it everything we’ve got.

We’ll be focusing on more evening events and new ways to use the café, so PLEASE tell me what you’d love to see - crafts, workshops, talks, social evenings… anything!

Things change. Businesses adapt. People adapt.

Change is scary, but sometimes staying exactly where you are is scarier.

Here’s to figuring out what comes next. 🩷 by @wingingitsince97
