When you visit the Meadow, the odds are high that you'll run into this handsome fellow. His name is Watson, coined after Texas country music singer Aaron Watson. ("Trout" was my choice, but the 6-year-old in the family always seems to win! 😉) Rest assured, he is incredibly friendly and will love all of your attention! He will also gladly be on his way, if canine interaction isn't your thing 😉 🐶 happy fishing!

🤬PSA: Can you count how many spinners, rooster tails, panther-martins, and multiple hook rigs are in this bunch? I find these 100 yard clumps of line, with treble hooks, and tons of fishing trash everyday, down river from the public fishing section of Soque River in Clarkesville, Georgia. Numerous people who fish this section everyday pack coolers of small and large trophy trout stocked by the @georgiawildlife and private landowners everyday. The @georgiawildlife allows 8 trout per person per day on this section and many others. No delayed harvest, No size limit required, and people definitely are keeping more than 8 trout per person. Come On, that’s not conservation. The Soque River public section could be the best public river section in the USA. If the laws were changed and the state gives more money for hiring DNR rangers. Write or call your local representatives to help make them understand how passionate we are about this river. In the Western States, conservation officers and DNR Rangers laugh at the state of Georgia’s hunters and fisherman.
