Shadow Reaper was absolutely phenomenal and if you haven't pre-ordered it already, what are you doing?! Here's the synopsis to convince you!

Anyways, when I reread this series in the lead up to Kaldoras releasing, I picked up on a few quotes that reminded me of Bible verses that I wanted to share ☺️ Most of them relate to the Library, but there are a couple of others too 🤭

I loved supporting Christian authors so much and @lynettenoni is just the most loveliest human being ever, I'm so glad I stumbled upon her books when I was 14/15 🥹💞 I also love her second account @remember.the.light where she has posted quotes and Bible verses 🥰

Eeeeek! My German luxury special editions of The Prison Healer trilogy by @lynettenoni arrived today!! When I saw them online I just HAD to buy them! Shipping killed me but it was worth it! 🤩

I'm obsessed with the sprayed edges ohmygosh! And I didn't realise there was artwork on the reverse dust jacket but it's so stunning!! Kiva, Jaren, and Tipp all look incredible in this style! 😍 The chapter art, endpapers, hardcover designs, and dust jacket designs are all so beautiful, I am so happy to have these books in my Lynette Noni collection 🥹 (we're up to 53 books now if anyone is keeping track 🫢)

I finally got around to reading OUABH by @stephanie_garber and I have to say even though it took me a while to get into, and I unfortunately saw some spoilers on Instagram, I enjoyed it more than the Caraval series! I also really like all the little symbols on the cover 🤭

I love the graphics in her books, especially the newspaper clippings in this one. I loved the way colours were described and the chipmunk-sized dragons. I loved LaLa and Apollo and enjoyed the small twists throughout the book even though most of them didn't surprise me 😅 The outcome with Luc did surprise me though and I'm curious to read more about him in the next book!

I got excited when LaLa said Evangeline needed physical contact for a full day for a cure to work properly, expecting forced proximity between her and Jacks, but was disappointed when it turned out to be an overnight time skip 😅 I wanted more in that regard 😭

I also personally found Evangeline waaaaay too forgiving towards a certain character and I think she accepted her marriage proposal to the prince way too quickly 😅 There were also a few minor errors in the book I spotted like Apollo kneeling in front of Evangeline but a few paragraphs later it said he looked down at her, and Marisol telling Evangeline that the gossip sheets *have* been kind to her when they were not 💀 My book also had a typography error but what can you do? 😅🤷‍♀️

I did record one quote I really liked while reading:

I wanted to put three kisses in my photo to represent the three kisses Evangeline owes Jacks, but it looked too crowded so I left one out. I think it works anyway though because I think she still has one more for Jacks to claim 😂

Thank you @maddycalderwrites for the eARC of #AThiefAmongFae! A warning to my fellow no spice readers, this book contains a short spicy scene as well as other suggestive language throughout the book.

This book was marketed as having Skyrim vibes and it didn't disappoint! The draugr, barrows with puzzles (the statues and wheels), sweet rolls, candied nuts, urns, and lockpicks all reminded me of the game 🤭 The fae gave me TCP vibes and were done well! The only error I spotted was one scene where a fae lied 🥲

The FMC Cynthia was smart and had a good moral compass. I loved watching her come into her power! I also loved how Desmond, the MMC, remembered the little things about her 🥹 I loved Min's seriousness, Finnian's Gift, and Nikolai's tender heart. The guild reminded me a little of some of my own OCs 🤭 There were cool enchanted items and a ferocious wyrm! There was instant attraction between the main characters and the one bed trope was fun to read 🤭 My favourite scene was one of the puzzles in the barrow, but honestly all the action scenes were very fast paced and SO well done! They had my heart racing! There was hilarious banter and stinging betrayals. The reveal of one of the character's Gifts had me questioning everything, forming theories that were wrong so the true reveals surprised me. Overall, the book was very well written and I would have loved a map to go along with the story 😍

One thing I wasn't a fan of was the large age gap between Cynthia and Desmond. I mean, it's not *terrible* given the fantasy setting, but it was still a minor thing in the back of my mind 😅 Something that did bother me though was that Desmond's Gift is revealed in the blurb of the book, and I think it shouldn't be, because it's a secret he doesn't reveal until 75% through the book 🥲
A few other minor things were characters drawing weapons from a back scabbard which is physically impossible, and two characters riding a horse together, which I find unrealistic for the poor horse 😅

I miraculously got my hands on a US ARC of Akarnae and I am OBSESSED 😱 The cover is so gorgeous and I am so excited that The Medoran Chronicles is getting more recognition outside of Australia now! Akarnae is the book that introduced me to @lynettenoni, A.K.A my favourite author ever 🥹 (if you couldn't tell 😂) I was devastated that I couldn't apply to be on the street team, because I live in Australia, but now that I have an ARC I feel a little better 😅😂 And even if I'm not an official street team member, I'm still gonna shout about Lynette's books 😂

I treated myself to the @fairyloot YA Starlight Magic box from February this year off Vinted 🤭 I actually got all of this for cheaper than my book only subscription? 😅🥴
I apologise for the fairly simple photos (following the same format as my FL SR post, but with less props), I've been working all day and when I got home I tried to use the last of the daylight to take these 🫠 I am now completely dead 😵😵‍💫

I finished Finale last night! After reading the whole trilogy, I can safely say Caraval wasn't my favourite of the three books 😅 I still find it so strange how I don't like Tella from Scarlett's POV, but I love reading from Tella's POV more?

Anyways, I loved Mistress Luck and The Assassin in Finale, despite their brief appearances. Jacks was cheeky as always 🤭 I actually loved the love triangle in this book, and I think I found it far more tolerable than other love triangles because the two men were very charismatic and witty, but I also knew who Tella would end up with in the end due to knowing Jacks is the MMC in OUABH 😅 (the spoiler I added in my Legendary post still baffles me though 🥴)
I loved the descriptions of noise in Finale, I could literally hear them in my mind which was cool. Ooh, also, one of the major plot twists I guessed way before it happened so it wasn't very surprising, but I think one or two others did get me 🤭

Moving onto what I didn't enjoy as much... there were a few inconsistencies that bugged me 🥲 Without spoiling his identity to those who haven't read this series, Tella called a character "Legend" in front of Julian and Scarlett, and Scarlett didn't even react. I didn't recall a scene from Finale or Legendary when she found out his identity? I'm happy to be proved wrong 🥲 Maybe my memory failed me? 😅 Another thing was when The Fallen Star called Scarlett "auhtara" for the *first* time and she said, "Why do you keep calling me that?" Girl, this is the first time he called you that 🥴 If you saw my stories, you'd also know I was also struggling with these fictional flowers called "faisies" 😂😭💀
Other than that, I think some revelations were glossed over by the characters and some of the deaths were not very impactful - surrounding characters barely reacted and I didn't believe one of the characters had actually died until I finished the book 💀

@novellousbox had a sale and I couldn't help myself, I had to buy the pack of Shadow Reaper character prints with art done by the incredible @dominiquewesson 😍 Aren't they stunning?! Dominique makes every character she draws so dang attractive 🤤🤭 It's how I visualise them when I read 🤭

Book number two down and I enjoyed this significantly more than Caraval! I found Donatella infinitely more tolerable and actually enjoyed reading from her POV. She was less of an airhead and more cunning. It would be interesting to read Caraval from her perspective. I also loved Dante and Jacks, they're both so witty 😂
I feel Legendary was less Wonderland-y than Caraval (which I'm not complaining about, I actually liked that it wasn't as whimsical 😅) but there was a scene that gave me Labyrinth vibes 😆

Something I didn't like was the whole Decks of Destiny thing. I know Stephanie Garber is a Christian author so seeing her implement tarot throughout the entire book was disappointing. I would have rated Legendary 5 stars if not for that, as I don't agree with witchcraft whatsoever.
One other thing that bugged me was that every time Dante was in the scene it described him as smelling of ink. 1. Do tattoos have a scent? I have no idea 🤷‍♀️ 2. The repetition really annoyed me for some reason 😅💀
