😁✨ Thank you to all of our sponsors for making this weekend possible! by @themelbournefestival
💙 It quite literally takes a village to ensure Melbourne Festival can go ahead. Our volunteers have worked tirelessly today to set up for the weekend. From the boys who wake up bright and early to install the boards for art to hang on and the tape and touch up team who ensure everything is spotless before the artists arrive. The volunteers who spent hours blowing up balloons and hanging bunting, and the ones who stand selling trail guides come rain, wind, or shine. Thank you. We are extremely fortunate to have such generous hosts who are willing to open their private properties for the artists. Thank you for trusting us and supporting us for the last 21 years! A huge thanks to our sponsors. Your support means local artists have an opportunity to exhibit their work and that our visitors can enjoy a special weekend. You have helped us to commission emerging artists to create incredible new work, encourage new talent to step into a creative career, give the local community space to create and learn new skills, and help art find a home in Melbourne. We are so excited for the weekend. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we love putting it together. 🎟️ Wristbands are £7.50 each and valid both days. Under 18s go free. 🌸 Entry to the festival includes free entry to Melbourne Hall Gardens where you can find the Secret Sculpture Garden! 👨🏻‍🎨 Visit 160+ artists over 65 venues 🍔 Artisan food 🎶 Live music 🪡 Display of Melbourne in Stitches project 🥳 Family fun 📆 19 - 20 September 2026 ⏰ 10am - 5pm by @themelbournefestival

✨ Introducing our Emerging Artist Award Winners! ⭐️ What an incredible turnout for this year’s ceremony. Thank you so much to all of the artists who attended and for your outstanding work. You made the judges’ decision incredibly difficult, so well done all! This year’s winner was Isabelle Barnett with her oil painting “Maria”. Runner-up was Mohamed Adam with pencil drawing “The Sibling Bond”. Commended by the judges were Ellie Edwards with the “Earth Calendar” installation and Emma Croney’s mixed media piece, “Signal Drift”. Finally, the People’s Choice Winner as voted for by visitors to Melbourne Festival was Francisco Guerrero with his mixed media piece, “Cenarth Falls”! The Emerging Artist Award is one of our favourite parts of the festival. Seeing so much talent on display was such a highlight and we had so many comments from the public about the strength of the work this year. Thank you to all who applied and a big congratulations to all those shortlisted. You are all fabulous, and we can’t wait to see your careers blossom! by @themelbournefestival
