If you’ve been feeling off and can’t quite explain it. If you’ve left doctor’s appointments with more questions than answers. If you’re exhausted from trying to figure this out on your own. This is for you.

I’m Julie, an occupational therapist, certified women’s health specialist, and certified menopause coach. I navigated early menopause myself at 42, and the gaps in care I experienced along the way are what inspired me to get certified and build this practice. Because far too many women are needlessly suffering through a stage of life that can absolutely be supported. We just were never taught any of this.
I feel better than I ever have. And I want that for every woman I work with.

Whether you’re in perimenopause, postmenopause, or navigating early or surgical menopause, you deserve more than a normal lab result and a referral to come back in a year. You deserve answers, a plan, and someone who actually gets it.

Swipe to see if this sounds like you.

Most women come to me after months or even years of managing symptoms in isolation, seeing multiple providers, and still not having a clear picture of what’s happening or what to do about it.

That changes in our very first session together.

As an occupational therapist, women’s health specialist and menopause coach, I bring a lens that’s different from what you’ll find in a standard medical appointment. I don’t just look at your symptoms. I look at how menopause is affecting your roles, your routines, your relationships, and your identity, and we build a plan to get that back.

Swipe to see exactly how I help.

The Menopause Empowerment Session was designed to offer what no 15-minute medical appointment ever could: the time, the information, and a personalized plan built around your symptoms, your health history, and your life.

This isn’t about replacing the medical care you receive. I work alongside it, providing the education, support, and lifestyle strategies that help you understand your options, advocate for yourself, and move forward with a clear plan.

One session. 75 minutes. A plan you can start using immediately.

If you’re done navigating this alone, the link in my bio is where to start.

We lead very busy lives. And unfortunately, women have been conditioned to accept a certain level of suffering. We have also been conditioned to put ourselves last on the priority list. During the menopause transition, that needs to change. This is the window of opportunity to prioritize your health and put yourself first. Not only to manage the symptoms you are having now, but also to protect your long-term health and quality of life for decades to come.

If you need help figuring out how you’re going to do that, that is exactly what I help women with. I would love to help you build your menopause plan! Learn more at the link in my bio. by @themenoot

Replying to @Danielle 🌷 vaginal estrogen is an extremely low dose and incredibly safe treatment, and it can prevent vaginal atrophy, discomfort with intimacy, and urinary tract infections. In my opinion, why wait to have a dry uncomfortable vagina and recurrent UTIs when you can prevent them? by @themenoot

Statins get a lot of bad press, but when you look at the actual data, many of the common fears do not tell the whole story.

The Reality Behind Statin Concerns

Muscle Aches: Only about 1 in 100 people experience muscle symptoms genuinely caused by statins, with many patients reporting similar aches on a placebo. Women are more likely to stop treatment over these symptoms and remain underrepresented in clinical trials, but simple clinical workarounds exist.

Blood Sugar & Diabetes: Decreasing estrogen during menopause already increases insulin resistance. While statins can cause a small uptick in blood sugar, the average change in Hemoglobin A1c is less than 0.1%.

Memory Loss & Cognitive Health: Large clinical trials show no link between statins and cognitive decline or memory loss. In fact, uncontrolled high cholesterol in midlife is a known risk factor for developing Alzheimer's disease.

Statins often receive unnecessary shade, but understanding the evidence helps clear up the confusion. Most reported side effects can be safely managed alongside your doctor.

What questions or concerns have you had about starting a statin? Let us know in the comments!

Yesterday I joined advocates from across the country in Washington, DC for Perimenopause & Menopause Capitol Hill Day with Women’s Health Advocates, and I’m still buzzing. 🏛️

As part of the Pennsylvania delegation, I met with the offices of Rep. Dwight Evans and Sen. Dave McCormick to share why menopause care can’t wait.

Our biggest ask: cosponsor the Advancing Menopause Care & Midlife Women’s Health Act (H.R. 9090 / S. 4503). This bill invests in menopause research, provider training, and public education. We also asked for support of bills on menopause education for medical students, research and care for servicewomen and veterans, workplace protections for menopausal workers, and better hormone health data, plus continued funding for the Menopause Research Action Network.

I went into early menopause at 42. Even as a licensed occupational therapist, it took me years of trial and error to get effective care. If I struggled with clinical training behind me, I think about every woman navigating this alone.

The numbers back it up. Fewer than a third of OB-GYN residency programs had a menopause curriculum as of 2022. Menopause symptoms cost the U.S. an estimated $26.6 billion a year. And about 75 million women are in perimenopause or menopause right now.

We deserve care that is informed, accessible, and taken seriously. That starts with policy.

Want to help? Call or email your representatives and ask them to cosponsor H.R. 9090 or S. 4503. It takes five minutes and it matters. 💜

The grief over your body after surgical menopause is real, and it does not get talked about nearly enough. Waking up in a body that changed overnight, without enough information or support, is a lot to carry. You are allowed to grieve, and you are allowed to get real help while you do. Link in bio for my newsletter made specifically for women navigating early, surgical, and treatment-induced menopause. by @themenoot

What happens when your body goes into menopause early? That’s what happened to Menopause Coach and Women’s Health Specialist, @themenoot Julie Parana after she had a hysterectomy at 42 yrs old.

In this powerful episode, Julie talks to me all about how “she lived it, then studied it.”
We discuss the barrage of symptoms women experience in perimenopause, and how these major changes can last up to a decade before women hit menopause.

So why are most of us still left completely unprepared for this major health transition?

If you’ve been feeling “off,” leaving your doctor’s office with more questions than answers, and exhausted from trying to figure it out on your own, this episode is for you!

Today is World Menopause and Cancer Awareness Day, and this is a topic close to my heart.

As an occupational therapist and menopause coach, I work with survivors, and I see the gaps in care over and over again. They find themselves blindsided by hot flashes, brain fog, joint pain, sleep loss, and a dozen other symptoms of treatment-induced menopause, and they were given no plan to manage any of it.

Cancer treatment can bring on menopause suddenly and often permanently, yet it’s rarely part of the pre-treatment conversation. Patients deserve to know what’s coming before it happens, not to piece it together on their own months or years later.

This year, the call is for:
Menopause support built into pre-cancer treatment discussions and long-term care planning. Better training for healthcare professionals to recognize and manage treatment-induced menopause. Real access to therapies and specialist care for everyone living with and beyond cancer

No one should have to navigate menopause alone, especially not on top of a cancer diagnosis.
