That powerful roar you hear in the wild is more than just noise! 🔥

Lions roar to communicate with other members of their pride, mark their territory, warn rivals to stay away, and help family members locate one another across long distances. Their roars can travel several kilometres across the African wilderness!

Sometimes, when a lion roars, it’s sending a clear message to the entire jungle: “I AM HERE, AND THIS IS MY TERRITORY!” 👑🦁

But here’s something interesting: lions don’t roar only when they’re angry. Sometimes, they’re simply communicating with their family!

If you heard a lion roaring in the middle of the night, would you be curious enough to investigate, or would you run for your life? 😂🏃‍♂️

Did you know that Africa is home to one of the largest snakes in the world?

The African rock python (Python sebae) is a powerful, non-venomous snake found across much of sub-Saharan Africa, including Ghana. For centuries, this magnificent reptile has featured in African folklore, cultural beliefs, and traditional stories.

African rock pythons commonly grow around 3–5 metres long, although exceptional individuals can grow larger.

These giants inhabit forests, grasslands, savannahs, wetlands, and areas near rivers and lakes.

Unlike venomous snakes, the African rock python captures its prey with its teeth and coils around it, using constriction to subdue it. Its diet includes birds, rodents, monkeys, and antelopes.

The female lays eggs and coils around them to help protect them until they hatch.

DID YOU KNOW THE OSTRICH CAN LIVE FOR UP TO 50 YEARS?
Meet the ostrich (Struthio camelus), the world’s largest living bird

These fascinating birds mainly feed on seeds, grass, fruits, flowers, and shrubs, but they also eat insects such as locusts. Thanks to their excellent eyesight and hearing, they can detect predators like lions from a distance! 🦁👀

Here’s another interesting fact: female ostriches lay their fertilized eggs in a single communal nest

Habitat: Drier, sandy regions of central and southern Africa.

Imagine taking an ordinary boiled egg, stuffing it with freshly grinded raw pepper, tomatoes, and onions, and turning it into one of Ghana’s most loved street snacks

In Ghana it’s called KOSUA NE MEKO which literally means egg and pepper in Twi, the local language in Ghana 🇬🇭

From busy markets to trotro stations and roadside sellers, this simple but powerful combination has become part of everyday Ghanaian life. And the way Ghanaians enjoy their pepper? You need courage for this one! 😂🔥

But here’s the real question: DO YOU EAT YOUR KOSUA NE MEKO WITH A LITTLE PEPPER OR ENOUGH PEPPER TO MAKE YOU CRY? 🤣🌶️

Drop your thoughts in the comments! And if you’re not Ghanaian, would you like to try this?
