Had another great day at Magic Mountain! by @themeparkswithbrian

Spending Halloween at Magic Mountain! by @themeparkswithbrian

It’s almost Halloween! Remember the glowing fish in the Haunted River at Kings Dominion? Didn’t the clam open and close? Or am I just imagining that? by @themeparkswithbrian

Here’s a photo of the famous rocking grandma who sat on the left side just before you went up the lift hill on the Haunted River at Kings Dominion. As your boat slowly passed by her, it always felt as if she was watching you. by @themeparkswithbrian

Mäch Tower operated from August 2011 to January 2023 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The ride was located just across from the entrance to Verbolten and took riders 238 feet into the air before dropping them back down. While it wasn’t a favorite of mine, I did appreciate having it there to ride from time to time. The ride was plagued by mechanical problems and was eventually removed from the park.

Did you get a chance to ride Mäch Tower? If so, did you enjoy it? by @themeparkswithbrian

We stopped at Kings Dominion for dinner and a walk around the park. The park was really busy, but we still enjoyed the atmosphere of Halloween Haunt. The moon and clouds were also stunning tonight, making it feel even more like fall. by @themeparkswithbrian

Nice cool fall night at Halloween Haunt. #rollercoaster #kingsdominion by @themeparkswithbrian

Did you get a chance to ride Thunder Road at Carowinds before it closed in 2015? My only ride on it was back in 2010. I definitely didn’t think it was nearly as good as Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion, but it was still a fun ride! by @themeparkswithbrian

This shot was taken from the little bridge as you walk toward the Blue Ridge Tollway at Kings Dominion. Straight ahead and to the left, you can see the patio area of the White Horse Inn Restaurant, which eventually became Country Kitchen and is now the VIP Lounge. by @themeparkswithbrian

Leap the Dips opened in 1902 and last operated in 2023 at Lakemont Park. The chances of it ever running again aren’t looking good at this point. by @themeparkswithbrian

The Skyliner at Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA, closed in 2023 and will more than likely never operate again. The coaster sits just beyond the right-field wall of the Altoona Curve’s stadium. I took these pictures back in 2010, and from what I’ve seen, the ride appears to be in pretty bad shape now. Did you ever get to ride this one? #abandoned #rollercoaster by @themeparkswithbrian

Here are a couple of Intimidator 305 (Pantherian) construction pictures that I took back on 1/5/10. The paint looked great when it was new, but that red and yellow didn’t hold up very well over the years. I do like the current colors much more than the original! by @themeparkswithbrian
