This lovely client is an actress, so being able to express herself and still look completely like herself was really important to her. Any enhancements needed to be undetectable.

She was happy for me to share her story, and as you can see, she has absolutely beautiful skin. She really looks after it, and it shows. She’d had cheek filler previously, but that was a good few years ago.

What had started to bother her most over the last few years was her lower face—particularly the pre-jowl area. It was something she’d become increasingly conscious of, and it was her main priority when we talked about what she hoped to achieve.

She wanted a little more definition along her jawline and had also noticed that the skin around her neck felt looser.

For me, understanding those concerns is where the assessment starts. What is she noticing? What matters most to her? And what does she want to preserve?

From there, it’s about assessing her face as a whole, from different angles and during expression, and talking honestly about what treatment could realistically achieve.

Her brief was clear: thoughtful, subtle changes that would still feel entirely like her.

Even the best and most experienced injector in the world can leave a bruise.

You can, however, be more creative with the explanation. Personally, I’ll be saying I fought off a shark in Tynemouth. One judo chop. Saved three paddleboarders. Still made it to Reformer Pilates 🙇‍♀️

Bruising can happen even with careful technique, and nobody can guarantee you’ll avoid it.

A realistic expectation of treatment. The less exciting truth? Bruising can happen with injections, even with careful technique. We can reduce the risk, but nobody can guarantee you won’t bruise.

Meet Rachel @rachelc.medicalaesthetics 🤎👩🏼‍⚕️

Rachel is a highly skilled and experienced Independent Nurse Prescriber and an Aesthetic Practitioner in her own right. I’m confident she shares The Merrow Method’s values of putting patient safety and high-quality, evidence-based treatment first, which is why I’ve chosen to work with her going forward. I will still be providing the treatments as usual, but Rachel will be signing off your prescription.

If you’re due your anti-wrinkle treatment in the next few weeks, please book in with Rachel for a quick, 10-minute face-to-face consultation to assess your suitability for prescription-only medication.

Our next prescribing clinic is Wednesday 7th October, 6–7pm, at The Merrow Method, and spaces are filling up fast.

If you’re not quite due your treatment yet, you don’t need to have it the days/week imminently after your consultation. You do however, need a face-to-face assessment before your treatment, so you can attend this clinic and agree suitable timing with myself and Rachel.

The consultation costs £25, payable when booking. This will be deducted from your treatment cost at your appointment to have the treatment administered.

A wee unexpected Samhain update 🍂 🍁

By complete chance this week, I was connected with some new suppliers through a mutual friend (shoutout to Steve) 🤣 and, after a lot of conversations behind the scenes and me absolutely scrutinising the ingredients I’ve managed to secure my polynucleotides at a significantly better price to me.
