How deep into the dark are you willing to go?

On August 22nd, I completed the Twisted Branch 100k as a test run for Moab240. 65 miles, 11,000ft of elevation, & the hope of crossing the finish line with a body & heart that believed it could complete that distance almost four more times.

I’ve dedicated a lot of the last 3 years running towards things that should scare me. But as I get closer to these beasts, with the crossing of each finish line, I leave the fallen goals in my wake, hunting for another larger & deadlier monster to come face to face with.

I booked this race just a few weeks out from the actual date of it. @themiccreates came on board not only to capture the weekend, but also to drive & crew with my wife @gabrieladakas. Arriving to that start line & crossing that finish line feeling light & strong felt like a miracle. It instilled a confidence & readiness for Moab240 that I only felt prior to my knee injury / surgery earlier this year.

To have loved ones, friends, & crew that will wake up at 1 AM for a race & wait at aid stations for 14+ hours just to see you succeed is a blessing beyond any physical ability or accomplishment. I’m eternally grateful for the talent, camaraderie, & support that I’ve received on this year’s adventures.

To be a person that says YES & have attracted a team that says yes with me has been such an advantage towards what we’re chasing.

Warm ups are done.
The main event is just around the corner.
