In a world that never stops, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU PAUSED?

So today, I decided to take my sketching more seriously…
No more random drawings ,I picked a style and said “yes, I can do this.”
Fast forward to me staring at my sketch like…
who drew this??
I really tried my best sha, but my best said “let’s be humble today”
But one thing about me?
I’m not giving up.

This week I decided to challenge myself to learn how to make a princess dart bustier.
Today’s work was drafting the pattern and cutting the pieces on paper. It may look simple, but I’m learning that the foundation of any garment really starts here.
For this practice, my muses are myself and my mum. If I can sew for us well, I know I’m getting better.
Tomorrow we move to fabric… let’s see how it turns out.

Some days I really don’t feel like working.
The motivation isn’t there.
Procrastination is whispering “rest small”.
But I’ve noticed something about sewing and life — the hardest part is just starting.
Once I start, the momentum usually comes.
Still learning discipline.
Still showing up anyway.

I’ve been learning FBA and tummy adjustments so I can sew better for my mum and other fuller-body women.
Today I tested my pattern on her — with practice fabric first, because I wasn’t ready to waste the good stuff 😭.
Still learning. Still improving.
One step closer to sewing clothes that actually fit real bodies.

I’ve been sewing for my mum for a while, and I kept noticing small fit issues.
Not terrible. But not perfect.
I don’t want “almost right.” I want right.
So this week , and however long it takes , I’m mastering bodice drafting for fuller figures.
Because she deserves clothes that sit beautifully on her body.
And I want to be skilled enough to give her that.
