My honest take on Mobamon: It’s a great design, but it demands commitment. Check it out on Kickstarter!

The game at its surface is simple! And honestly it doesn't take long to teach. Like MOBAs it's very simple on the surface, but there's depth when you get to understanding it.

It’s a blast once you understand control, drafting synergies, and when to burn cards on movement vs. combat.

But that depth means the game shines if you and your table are willing to invest in multiple playthroughs to actually learn the "meta" (ugh my League of Legends is coming out). If your group is looking for something to pull off the shelf once or twice a year without thinking, maybe think twice before grabbing it. If you have a dedicated crew ready to dig into team drafting and item builds over several sessions, it’s an easy recommend.

Pick it up if your table loves sinking teeth into deep, competitive tactics over repeated game nights. Pass if your shelf is already full of heavy games waiting for a second play. Definitely a "GAME NIGHT" game.

Welcome to Green Games! A series showcasing local & indie TTRPG creators!

Once a month, well interview creators about their game and have them run the game live on twitch! We'll later post the interview on YouTube with highlights of the One-Shot!

When people mention daggerheart, I think they misconstrue "narratively focused" with "rules lite." Daggerheart has structure, rules and mechanics that makes it very engaging FEATURE and fun.

Months ago we met, discussed our love of TTRPGs, especially those from Chicago and the Midwest, and a little idea worm started to take shape…thus Green Games was created!!!

We cannot wait to share some fun indie games, hidden gems, and maybe a surprise big kid TTRPG every now and then!!!

Once a month we will be interviewing indie game creators to see what makes them tick then having the creators themselves GM their games with a few surprise guests from the @chi.rpg studio!!!

We’ll be live streaming the game play from the Chicago Role Players Guild Twitch, and sharing our interviews and other fun clips on our social media channels.

We hope all of you will come join the fun!!!

Hot take: missing an attack doesn’t mean you didn’t hit them.

Armor Class (and HP) should be treated like it’s narrative flavor. That 25 AC Paladin isn’t dodging like they got ultra instinct. The attacks are clanging off plate armor, shields are absorbing blows, and energy is draining. Not every hit demands a pound of flesh, and not every “miss” means swinging at thin air.

How do you describe AC and near-misses at your table?
