I capture things that stand out to me. Maybe colors, from flowers in a field to neon at night. Maybe landscapes, built or natural or one in the other.

Looking forward to more properly exploring San Juan and Puerto Rico in the (hopefully near) future, but visiting as part of the cruise was lovely and certainly whetted my appetite.

Given my injury history, a bit surprised the rock slides and jumps of #damajaguafalls in the #dominicanrepublic didn’t leave a scar. Instead, just memories of an amazing experience. #puertoplata by @themistler

Night on the Golden Horn and Bosporus. (Including some long exposures I’m fond of that are maybe slightly trippy.)

I fell into a creative rut after Istanbul, and it even affected my editing of photos FROM Istanbul, but I think I’m on the other end now.

The Basilica Cistern in Istanbul is one of the coolest places I’ve been.

The fact that it is also literally cool was helpful in Türkiye in July, as well.

I would never forget the non-ferry mass transit of Istanbul, especially when it’s as photogenic as trolleys, both heritage and modern.

Ferries are an integral part of mass transit in Istanbul. There are so many lines going so many places it is awesome and sometimes confusing. The rides themselves are beautiful all the time.

Plus it is fun to think “I’m taking a quick ferry to another continent.”

I seem to have a thing for urban canyons. I already knew I had a thing for night shots. I think I combined the two to pretty decent effect in Istanbul.

The Blue Mosque is very, extremely pretty.

That’s it, that’s all I have to say.

Editing photos from Turkey while behind on posting. When in the City in May I finally made my way to Gantry Plaza State Park in Queens, which is beautiful, has nearly unbeatable views of Manhattan, and also answers the question "what are those structures on the East River that say LONG and ISLAND in big orange block letters?" (They're gantries)

Meet me under the arch.

Worth noting that the Arc de Trump wouldn't just ruin the solemnity of Arlington National Cemetery, it would be in a traffic circle, so it couldn't be a gathering place like Washington Square Park. (Unless you want to make traffic in DC and NoVa even worse.)
