There’s no version of any climb where the top shows up faster because you wanted it to.

Every step is at your own stride. The mountain is indifferent to how badly you want to be done.

Same with building something real. Life often gets busy, or quiet, or hard for a while.

It doesn’t mean something was wrong when things took longer than expected. Sometimes it just means we’re still on the way there.

This hike almost didn’t go the way we planned.

James and I took the wrong turn… twice.

We never actually made it to the summit we had set out for.

And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

Some of the most breathtaking views we experienced were because we got a little lost. We laughed, wandered, doubled back, and kept putting one foot in front of the other.

What made this day even more meaningful was that it was our first time getting out together after he lost his dad.

We’ve concluded that life has a way of reminding you what actually matters.

Sometimes it isn’t checking every box or reaching every destination. Sometimes it’s simply showing up for someone you care about, sharing the trail, having the conversations that need to happen, and being willing to keep walking when the path isn’t what you expected.

The timing of this hike couldn’t have been better for me either.

The last couple of months have felt like one wrong turn after another. Plans falling through. Unexpected setbacks. Moments where it would’ve been easy to believe I was heading in the wrong direction.

But the mountains have a funny way of teaching the same lesson over and over again.

There will always be another climb.
Another detour.
Another decision about whether you stop… or keep moving.

And maybe that’s all life really asks of us.

Not that we find the perfect path.

Just that we keep taking the next step—with good people beside us.

No real way to fully capture it… but this gets close 🤩

Appreciate everyone who came through and made it an awesome time!

We ended up raising $1000 for Protect Our Winters Canada, which is pretty wild for a first go and certainly not our last ❄️

Keep an eye out for what’s in store!

Still buzzing from this night!

A room full of people who love the mountains, showing up for something bigger than just a good time.

From the panel, response of the films to the energy in the room… wow!

Together we raised $1000 for Protect Our Winters Canada 🥳Supporting the work they do around climate education and advocate for policy solutions to climate change.

Really grateful for everyone who came out and made this happen.

This is just the beginning.
