A little reintroduction for anyone who’s new around here. 👋

I’m Ciana, founder of The MoCo List.

I created The MoCo List because I wanted to make it easier to discover the local businesses, places and people worth knowing around Montgomery County.

Before The MoCo List, I spent years working in marketing and promoting small businesses and boutiques across the country. I’ve always loved the strategy side of it, figuring out what makes a business special, how to tell that story and how to get the right people to pay attention.

But I also genuinely love local.

I want to know about the coffee shop tucked into a corner you’ve driven past a hundred times. The woman making something incredible out of her home studio. The new restaurant everyone needs to try. The boutique with things you won’t find in every other zip code. The people creating really good things right here in our community.

So I built the thing I wanted to exist.

Today, The MoCo List is part local guide, part small business platform, part events + markets, part marketing brain...and very much me running around Montgomery County finding things I think you should know about.

I get to spend a lot of my time doing what I love most: discovering local businesses, telling their stories and helping more people find them.

A signature scent. ✨

Last night @_living_outside_the_lines and I celebrated the launch of The Revival Scent Society with @theturnerrevival and came home with a custom perfume and custom laundry detergent. Apparently, I have a fragrance wardrobe now.

Her scent bar is so luxe and beautifully styled, and creating your own blend makes the experience feel even more personal. Think bridal showers, girls’ nights, birthdays, and all the little occasions worth making something of.

Your location, what you offer, and how to buy or book deserve a spot that’s easy to find. Preferably somewhere other than a caption from seven months ago.

You’re close to your business. A new customer is starting from zero.

One of the best additions for my small business? Good signage.

Three markets. Three different designs. One message that never changes: Thank you for shopping small.

These custom A-frame signs from @lonestarsign have already made their rounds at @shebloomsmarkettx the @shopsmallmarkets at @trixiescoffeeshop and the Courtyard Market at @thehighlandpine

When you organize markets, the details matter. And having signage that’s beautiful, functional, and designed to work across multiple events makes all the difference.

Even better? Connecting with another Montgomery small business in the process.

A little branding, a lot of intention, and a reminder of why we do this in the first place.

My availability for plans is limited. My availability for bedazzling pumpkins is apparently wide open.
