I’m so happy to host this silkscreen experience with @themodelsanctuary to bring their vision to life. I think what you are doing is incredible.

These images beautifully photographed by @jimmypewterfang reminds me that we can always learn from one another, we should be supportive of each other and the beauty of doing something from your heart.

Fashion facts series #1:
Before Vogue was the fashion publication we know it as today, it was actually a weekly society newspaper. First published on 17 December 1892, the cover depicted a young debutant emerging from a cloud of butterflies drawn by A. B. Wenzell, a highly sought after illustrator of his time. The publication was founded in New York City by Arthur Baldwin Turnure and was meant to attract the high society readers. Articles featured topics such as social etiquette, theater debuts, and columns tracking the city’s elites. Vogue maintained this format for 17 years until it was taken over by Condé Nast in 1909.

An icon in style and every iteration of her life and passing, Dolly was someone who embodied the sense of community and togetherness spanning across generations and genres that we should all strive to live by. Thank you for all that you shared with this world. #dollyparton by @themodelsanctuary

This is the first of our education series posts, ICONIC DESIGNERS A THROUGH Z

A is for Azzedine Alaïa: The King of Cling

He didn’t just make clothes—he sculpted them.
Before redefining 1980s fashion, Azzedine Alaïa studied sculpture at the Tunis Fine Arts Institute. That fine-arts foundation shaped his entire approach: he viewed pattern-cutting as architecture and the female form as his canvas. After arriving in Paris in the late 1950s, he operated a private atelier out of his apartment, quietly dressing Parisian high society, Louise de Vilmorin, and Greta Garbo.

By the 1980s, his glove-like knitwear, stretch fabrics, and laser-cut leather took the world by storm, earning him the title “King of Cling”.

The Rebel Couturier: He rejected official Fashion Week calendars, showing his collections only when he felt they were finished.

“Papa” to Supermodels: He took in a 16-year-old Naomi Campbell after her money was stolen in Paris, forming a lifelong father-daughter bond.

Hands-on Master: Unlike directors who merely sketch, Alaïa cut his own patterns and fitted garments directly onto live models.

Iconic Pop Culture Moment: Cher Horowitz permanently stamped his name into 90s cinema in Clueless (1995): “You don’t understand, this is an Alaïa!”

Which Alaïa silhouette is your all-time favorite? Drop a comment below, and stay tuned for B next week! by @themodelsanctuary

Sip, snack, and mingle with fellow models from across the city in one of downtown NYC’s most beloved spots, with mocktails on us all night long.
