Community and peer support are empowering - although some times we tend to forget that.

Grateful for the heart-centred, honest discussions and trust that our creative conversations brings to light – even more grateful to realise that μoment Creative is thankfully becoming a creative space where artists and creatives reach out to, come back to, connect, no questions asked.

A heartwarming message in my inbox, a spontaneous gathering I look forward to, and two unexpected re-connections are more than enough reminders of what may happen when I/you/we open ourselves to the world - always with care, and the two-way street as a guideline.

A collaboration that’s been in the making for some time now, is finally taking shape, and in very good company! ✨

Thanks to Four Nations International Fund in Scotland, we are kicking off Sustainable Financial Wellbeing in Arts (SFWA)

Here’s the official announcement ✨

We are happy to announce our new collaboration, Sustainable Financial Wellbeing in Arts (SFWA), a research project, bringing together Vahid of @counterinstitute (London), Monica De Ioanni @imprevistodanza (Artist, Edinburgh) and Constantina Georgiou (Among the Ants, Athens).

SFWA grew from a shared interest in a simple but important question: how to create a practical model for thinking about production of arts where the financial considerations are not a hindrance but a guarantor of sustainable and uncompromising creativity to ensure freedom of expression.

Over the coming months, through online conversations, an in-person workshop, and a public event in Edinburgh, we’ll share experiences, exchange ideas, and look at the conditions that allow creative practices to have continuity and growth, both artistically and organisationally.

We are excited to begin this collaboration and grateful to the Four Nations International Fund for its support.

🎉I am taking this #μoment to celebrate a milestone reached over the summer: more than 700 people are now following our small community here on Instagram.

Similar to how I felt when we reached 500 followers, I’ll say this again: it’s one of the most rewarding feelings to see μoment Creative gaining visibility; but, most importantly, to see you, creatives and freelancers, intentionally making space for yourselves to engage in creative conversations, reflect, and grow through #mentoring and peer support.

Although uploading content on social media is not exactly a strong point of mine, meaningful connections are being made and conversations happening behind the scenes.

So, a heartfelt #ThankYou to everyone who is here, following along, engaging, and contributing to this growing creative community.

Happy rest of the summer, everyone! ☀️

For those who know me, you probably know that one thing I love about my job is the opportunity it gives me to meet and work with people across the world. I find it magical to be introduced to people, cultures, and realities so different from my own.

You may also know that one thing I avoid doing (to say the least 🙃) is speaking in front of more than two people at once, live or online.

Well, tomorrow, I’ll be doing both. And no matter how scary it sounds (and is), I am embracing the discomfort, for good reason.

As part of her ongoing #InstaBAAT series, director, writer, Professor of Film and dear friend Akifa Mian @laetaan.official.films has invited me to join her for a live conversation on creative journeys, working internationally, and the importance of community.

Do join us, from Lahore, Athens, or anywhere else in the world 🗺️

“Whatever the problem, community is the answer” ✨

This is what Margaret Wheatley said, and has driven and shaped my work so far. And, what a joy to watch relationships, collaborations and a growing support network unfold within the small community of #μomentCreative 💫

I will be writing more about the importance and impact of supporting each other in our local creative contexts in the following weeks.
