Hiii I’m Ali and since a bunch of new faces have shown up lately, a reintroduction felt appropriate!

I’ll be 35 in a few weeks, I’m married to my CrossFit coach, I work out to look good naked and keep up with my kids (in that order). We’re a homeschooling family living in the sunshine state ☀️ and to be completely honest, time flexibility through my network marketing business has allowed us to build this life we love living!

We’ve got two wild ones:
→ Our kind-hearted 12-year-old boy
→ And our never-stops-moving 9-year-old girl who keeps us on our toes in the best and hardest ways possible.

When she was 2, we received an autism diagnosis that flipped our world upside down. But now she’s teaching us, especially through something called Spell to Communicate (aka S2C), a communication method that has absolutely changed her life… and ours.

In 2019, I lost my big brother to cancer. He was 30. 💔 It broke me and shaped me, and it lit a fire in me I can’t turn off.

The last decade stretched and molded me in so many ways. It taught me that health is wealth, and I don’t mean six-pack abs. I mean gut health, mental clarity, energy, mood, blood sugar, inflammation. All the real stuff that actually changes how you live.

So now I’m here in this little corner of the internet, teaching women how to feel good again.

How to understand their bodies.
How to heal with intention.
How to take care of themselves without shame.

My Rae 🫶🏼 When I tell our story I’ve always mentioned an emotional disconnect when you were a baby. It was this feeling that something was missing back then but, boy is it ever fierce now.

By the grace of God, one of your love languages is food 🙏🏼. And you love good food, real food, healthy, delicious food.

Food is medicine and it’s one of the ways I get to care for my children. I truly believe every bite is either harmful or helpful to their health and yes, we allow harmful bites but, we also work to create an environment with far more helpful bites.

I believe we have to shift mindsets from “you grew up with it and you’re fine” to being more open-minded to the fact that not everyone is in fact “fine”. I am here for this movement of mothers that fiercely care about what goes into our babies! 👏🏼👏🏼 I’m happy to see more and more of us and I know this is how we will influence and educate the generations to come.

Earlier today I saw @peace_love_autism post about siblings of special needs kids. How they are often referred to as “glass children” and it stopped me dead in my tracks.

“Glass children” have a brother or sister who require ongoing attention and care above and beyond what we would consider normal parenting to be.

The adjective “glass” is used not as a way to label these siblings as fragile but, rather because their parents can frequently become so consumed with the needs of their brothers and sisters, that when they look at the glass child, they see right through them. 😭😭

To our sweet Ryker, I promise to always point you to the lord, to love you fiercely and remind you frequently. I vow to always honor your struggles, joys, interests, fears, and dreams outside of your role as a sibling to someone with special needs. ♥️ You are the very best brother for Rae!

before I was anything, I was your sister 💔

I never thought I would have to do life without you, I never thought there would be versions of me you would never know, I never knew there would come a day when I could only tell stories about you and not make new ones. It’s painful to to describe you to people who never met you, and they are left with this version of me.
