🎬 BREAD: A Story of Faith, Survival, and Second Chances
They say life is the best teacher, and for Director Duce Ellis, the lessons were written in the streets of Cleveland.
BREAD isn't just a movie; it’s a raw, semi-autobiographical journey through the tunnel vision of the criminal lifestyle and the jaw-dropping signs from God that demand a change.
The Meaning Behind the Name
• The Man: Our main character, fighting to find his way.
• The Hustle: The pursuit of money that often leads to a dead end.
• The Word: "Give us this day our daily BREAD" (Matthew 6:11).
The Story
After a life-threatening encounter with the law and a bittersweet meeting with Arnisha in the ICU, Bread is forced to face the ultimate question: Continue the street life, or change? From the East Side of Cleveland to the screens of Tubi, this film represents a decade of sacrifice. Duce Ellis stepped away from his art to raise his daughter, and now he is finally completing his vision.

Even when a scene is too good for the final cut, the energy on set is undeniable. 🎬 This is a special behind-the-scenes look at the Barbershop sequence. While this specific moment was trimmed due to the film’s length, the spirit of the scene lives on in the final edit!
I’m still holding it down in this scene, so make sure you’re looking closely. Catch the full vibe of the movie and see how it all came together by streaming BREAD on Tubi right now.
Every stream this week helps us climb the charts, so let’s keep that momentum going! 🥖🔥

Winning the Musical Prodigy Award at the Legend Awards was a powerful moment for me, but it is even more meaningful when you understand the journey behind it. For those who might not know “from whence I came,” I am sharing my 1 sheet to give you a glimpse into the history and the work that led to this night. There is so much more I could have given you, but it is called a 1 sheet for a reason. Like Dwen @dwentheoriginaldiva often says, my discography is more than just a list of credits; it is a timeline of growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to my craft.
My history in this industry started as a child performer on the stages of BET and blossomed at the Cleveland School of the Arts @clevelandschoolofthearts . Those early years taught me the spectacle of music, but my journey since then has been about mastering the business. From the national success of #2Spoyled to my current work as an executive and producer, I have always stayed ten toes down for the vision.
Being recognized as a Prodigy in 2026 feels right because it validates the work I do “back of house.” Whether I am producing films like Bread on Tubi, consulting for the I AM Movement, or executive producing the Nino Brown of Cleveland biopic with @thereallajay1, I am always focused on the connection. Music is the foundation that allowed me to build the Chess Move Initiative and advocate for my community.
A huge shoutout to @nazzie_nae and the Legend Awards for seeing the history and the future in my work. To my daughter, celebrating your Sweet 16 while I received this honor was the highlight of my night. I am building this legacy for you and for everyone in the Land who needs to see that where you start doesn’t dictate where you finish.
If you are just catching up to the story, welcome to the journey. We are expanding globally and we are doing it with professional excellence.
