Watching @successteam___ youth build their leadership house was a sight to behold. The Greenprint: Social Emotional Learning LLC had a successful second collaboration with this incredible organization. They had their leadership retreat in Augusta, Georgia, last week, and I was honored to work with them on using social-emotional learning to maintain their culture and develop their leadership skills. Watching them work so hard to establish their culture, dig deep to connect with social-emotional learning, and value their time to build their leadership skills was a treat. So often, we don’t value human connection and vulnerability; teams and us as HUMANS grow when there is respect, empathy, and a shared connection. I can’t wait to see them again in August! by @themusecian

Thank you, Dr. Patricia Massengale, for letting me workshop with your College of Education department at my alma mater, Anderson University. Got a chance to facilitate with the first- and fourth-year classes on teacher preparation and the importance of being a learner to break ground in education. OFFICIAL UPDATE

Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share that new music is on the way! As I continue putting the pieces together and making sure the music represents the vision at its highest level, my full debut album will be pushed back to a later date.

This isn’t a stop—it’s simply more time to create, develop, and make sure everything is right before presenting the full project.

In the meantime, expect new music, new content, and more updates coming soon as we enter this next chapter.

Good evening, everyone. I had a few book sales this summer, and I realized I don't really promote or talk about my books enough. I used to worry about perception, but forget that. And I’m grateful that, to be an independent seller, both books have done well. I wrote Vol 1 in 2020, and it was based on education, social-emotional learning exercises, teambuilding, and leadership activities I did as an after-school director. Vol 1.5 also centers on learning design, teaching strategies, and the activities above. I have 8 copies left of each book; if you feel compelled, support by buying. It is an absolute honor to now serve as Successteam Youth Council’s Columbia Chapter Director and Director of Scholar Experience for both the Columbia and Aiken chapters.

I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Successteam through workshops and facilitation, and I saw firsthand what makes this organization so unique. Now having the opportunity to help develop the culture, social-emotional learning, and leadership experiences for scholars is something I’m truly excited about.

Successsteam is a youth development leadership organization serving 9th–12th grade students in Aiken, and I’ve watched scholars enter the program and leave as stronger and more intentional leaders.

Through mentorship, leadership development, relationship building, service opportunities throughout the area, and experiences designed to build confidence and character, scholars are challenged to grow not only as students but also as future leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond.
As we prepare for our spring cohort, applications for Columbia and surrounding areas will open in November. I especially want to make sure my Newberry community knows about this opportunity. If you know a high school student who would be a great fit for this leadership experience, please reach out and keep Successteam Youth Council on your radar.

Our goal for this simple: youth will come in strong and leave stronger.

Should you rent or buy a home? I’ve been a homeowner for a little over a year, and I love knowing I can pass the property down or keep it in my family. But with ownership, you are responsible for repairs, and it takes longer to pay off the home with interest unless there’s a strategy behind it. With renting, you can be more flexible in your lifestyle and not have to worry about repairs. But if you leave, you walk away with nothing and even lose the chance to create home equity. To me, there is no right or wrong answer to each choice. What say you? by @themusecian

Happy first birthday to my daughter, Brooklyn Dallas! The happiest baby in the world. Brilliant, won’t stop talking, loves to laugh but hate diaper changes lol. Jaylen Brown is not just an employee with anyone he plays for. He’s a partner. He is intelligent, business-savvy, and understands the importance of finance. So when having him on your team, teams have to realize he’s an asset, too. And he’s not just someone who has leverage. Maybe Boston didn’t want someone who had his kind of leverage around anymore. But wherever he goes- Philly and beyond- he’s someone who should be treated like a partner, and not an employee. by @themusecian
