🥯 Weekend essentials: bagels and iced coffee 🥯

Headed down to Bagels inc this morning for my first visit! Lots of fun choices on the menu but for my first trip anywhere I always go for the classics. (I think it’s the best way to suss somewhere out!) so today we got:

🍣 Lox n loaded - smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and black pepper on a sesame bagel

🥩Salt beef with English mustard and pickles on a plain bagel

🍵 iced matcha latte

☕️ iced latte

What can I say?! Classics done very well! The bagels were LOADED with filling, and delivered the soft yet chewy bite you expect from a good bagel. And the iced drinks in a can were a revelation!! HOW do they keep your iced drink so much colder for longer?! Seriously impressed with them! And I just love the branding - cute, memorable, aesthetic vibes ✨

💺Plenty of nice indoor seating

🍓STRAWBERRY PICKING SEASON 🍓

Breaking my 3 month insta hiatus with some spectacular strawberry scenes! Who doesn’t love a trip strawberry picking on a sunny summer afternoon?! I took my little one on her first strawberry picking adventure and she loved it! Best of all it was so quiet on a mid week afternoon so we had the fields to ourselves 🤩

500g or 1kg tubs available!
Our haul cost us £5.39 - very reasonable for these extremely delicious juicy strawberries! Probably the best I’ve ever tasted 😋

There’s a little on site cafe serving drinks and cakes, you can also buy local Angus beef 🥩 and there are goats who are super friendly and up for being petted! And a tractor for the kiddies to play on 🚜

Open everyday 10-5, no booking just turn up. Free entry just pay for what you pick. I’m certain we will be back in the next few weeks! taken in Village Pick Your Own by @thenakedsheff

[Ad] Such a fun weekend brunch spot! The pink tree has caught my eye many times but I finally made a visit and WOW it exceeded all my expectations! The decor, the food, the mocktails, this place is a unique offering for Sheffield!

We popped in for lunch yesterday and had:

🧆 Arabian Breakfast - loved how this was presented and all the little parts! For fans of a picky girl dinner

🍳 Masala omelette

🛁 Sho chos mocktail mojito - this was genius and delicious!

Honestly there were so many choices on the menu that caught my eye. I must go back to try the pancakes 🥞!! But this place isn’t just for brunch - there’s a great lunch and evening meal menu.

A new favourite for me! And if you’re brunching with the gals then the pink ladies only room is so much fun!! Pink everywhere!

Their Turkish eggs with lamb sausages are perfection 🤌 (the crispy onions 🤤🤤)
But basically anything on their menu is gonna get your tastebuds fired up!
Special mention also to the sausage hash 😍
And the coffee ☕️😮‍💨
Always hits the spot, silky and depth of flavour!

Kollective is always gonna be one of my go-to recommendations for brunch as the menu is varied and always so tasty. Plus bonus points because they’re so child friendly and dog friendly too! My bub loves the scrambled eggs on sourdough (and doggo often gets the crusts!)

My family visited the newly reopened Park pub this weekend following their recent refurbishment. Nat and the team ensured we had a super family meal, and made our one year old so welcome from the outset. So top marks for being a family friendly pub!

On to the food. You can’t go to a @sizzlingpubs without taking advantage of the sizzling plates and steaks! Everything was cooked exactly as ordered, fresh and tasty. And importantly great value. Where else can you get 2 8oz steaks for £16! All in all you probably can’t get this quality pub food at a better price point, so big thumbs up from us 👍👍

What we had:

🍣 sizzling salmon skillet with Cajun spices, sizzling veg and a side of basmati rice

🐔 sizzling chicken skillet with veg and rice

🥩 super steak ultimate meal - 2 8oz rump steak served with skin on fries, garden peas, mushrooms, grilled tomato, onion rings, fried egg and your choice of sauce. The beef dripping gravy is insane 🔥

🍗🥩 steak and chicken combo - 5oz rump with a grilled chicken fillet, fries, onion rings, tomato and mushrooms

The menu is extensive offering pub classics, 2 for £11.50 deals, burgers, curries and kids food! Kids eat for £1 during the week ☺️ The bar is also stocked with an excellent selection of drinks - even a perfectly poured Guinness! Everything you could want from a family trip for pub grub, all tastes will be catered for! All at great prices so no need to compromise on quality.

The park also offers takeaway food - just pick from their menu, order and organise collection! Pub grub in your own home?! Jackpot 🎰

[Ad] it’s #NationalPizzaDay - so where better to feature on this holy day than the sexiest slices in Sheffield from @cutiepiesandfries!

These deep pan Detroit style pizzas are worth all the HYPE. Buy them by the slice or a full pan if you’re feeling brave enough! Not for the faint hearted or small appetite, these pizzas are STACKED!
.

Possibly controversial but I’d say go for the “Cheese Louise” as it is a classic done to perfection! Marinara sauce, double mozzarella, basil sauce and Parmesan. *chefs kiss*
And do yourself a favour and get a pot of the hot honey for your dipping pleasure 🔥🍯

👻 Pearl-fect small plates 👻

Truly stunning scenes at Pearl. This is a dated post from pre-Christmas when we headed on a very rainy Sunday December afternoon for @forever.fernweh birthday scran and martinis 🍸 (very strong martinis!)

I’m sure the menu will have changed now but we shared and loved:
🍆 aubergine dumplings with ragu (heaven!! So good we got two portions… Reminded me of a falafel, but the ragu was insane!!)
🧅 miso and tamarind onion skewers
🫓 lachmacun flatbread with sumac and red pickled onions
🫑 grilled peppers with labneh
🥔 salted new potatoes with aioli (only ever had potatoes like these in the Canary Islands… beautiful salty goodness!)

Overall I loved the fusion of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours. Every dish was really flavourful and to say we only ordered one meat dish it really didn’t matter. The veggie dishes absolutely shone! Also for small plates they weren’t so small! In fact I was mega impressed by the size of the dishes obviously along with the flavours and quality! I also think 6 plates for £38 is very good value - we were full and enjoyed getting a good selection of the offerings!

I can’t wait to return! Get Pearl added to your list if you want that fine dining quality in a more laid back but very aesthetic setting. Perfect for date night or gals night - It was the perfect Sunday afternoon with a friend 🥰 taken in Park Hill, Sheffield by @thenakedsheff

[Ad] @littlesnackbaruk is one of those places that you’ve probably popped into for a milk tea 🧋 but never really considered eating there? Well it’s time to change that!

There’s a great selection of Taiwanese bento and snacks plus a really extensive drinks menu with so many fun options!

I went for the chicken katsu curry - think perfectly crunchy fried chicken with an addictive salt and pepper coating with silky curry sauce! 10/10 and a massive portion! (Wagamamas don’t come close!)

I also tried the spice salt fried tofu which was pillowy soft on the inside with a lovely light batter on the outside - and more of that addictive coating! Plus also a HUGE portion!

To drink I had the tiramisu milk tea which was INSANELY good - for you tiramisu lovers out there this is a MUST try. It perfectly captured the flavours of the tiramisu, and if you add the cheese float topping it’s even closer to a tiramisu!
