As I post things on instagram I try not to be so open and vulnerable with things like this… but I wanna be open with this post, in the first picture there’s a little boy… his names van. Van was my brother, I loved him deeply and as a family we did as well. Everyday we mourn the loss of him not being around, not hearing the running and the foot steps we would hear every single morning. Till this day it’s hard to fathom he’s not living with us anymore. (He’s not dead) but the situation is hard to explain. I got this tattoo as a family tattoo, the tattoo is in my handwriting saying “fast car” fast car is a song by Tracy Chapman. I wanted to get a tattoo for him of this song, it’s memorable to us, and it was his favorite song the song was played while we were on the country side of Arkansas picking up our pet chickens , But he would always want to replay and replay and replay this song he loved. It was a song he wanted to play every time we were in the car, never thought in my life he would be taken away from us… and every since then it’s been hard on all of us as a family. I always pray over his life and that someday will be reconnected with one another, birthdays, holidays etc get harder and harder every year. But I’m so grateful as I look at this tattoo it’s me looking at something he loved and seeing it on my arm everyday. Which is blessing to be able to have this as a memory of him. Van I love you dearly as a sister, and we all love you as a family. Thank you for being a light in everyone’s day. Thank you for having fun sleepovers and watching funny movies together. I miss it all! Truly. Will eventually meet agin, my arms will be wide open waiting for you. I love you🤍. by @thenaomibarnett

21🤍I’m blessed to live another year, & to be surrounded by those I love. This birthday is truly the first birthday I’ve ever felt much peace and so much love from many surrounding me today.
