Today I graduate from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Words can’t express the gratitude behind this journey…not just for the work I’ve put in, but for the life Christ has blessed me with.

Nursing school wasn’t just about studying for exams that stole hours of sleep, the never-ending discussion board posts, or the exhausting clinical hours. To me, nursing school was one of the greatest blessings I’ve ever been a part of. God laid nursing on my heart a few years ago, giving me just enough time to decide the path I wanted to take in college. Years later, at 20 years old, I’ll stand today as a graduate from a program I prayed over, receiving a degree that allows me to serve the people God created and use the gifts He gave me for His glory.

This isn’t about me. Sure, the pictures are nice, and we can celebrate the accomplishment. But at the end of the day, I am only here because of Jesus. He saved my life in ways I can’t fully express. He gave me a hope, a peace that surpasses understanding, and a joy that remained even when the days felt like years. This degree is a testament to His love for His children, and I would not be standing here without Him sustaining me every single day. The love He has shown me is indescribable, and my prayer is to be a light and show that same love to every patient I encounter.

I’m also so excited to share that I’ll be starting in the Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center! Going into nursing school, I never expected to end up in the ED, but God placed it on my heart a few months ago, and every piece fell into place.

Cue the countdown for graduation…. T minus 54 days AYEEEEE! I can’t believe this nursing school journey is quickly coming to an end, but I have so much left that I want to share!
