#AsSalaamAlaikum This verse of the Qur’ân tells us that there is blindness more pervasive and more subtle than the blindness of the eyes. There is deafness more insidious than that of the ears. It is the blindness and deafness of the heart and mind – born of heedlessness, thoughtlessness, and the rote following of others. What brings about this pervasive though unnoticed blindness? It is the result of what we might call social hypnosis – a state of being where the individual’s intellect is lulled into acquiescence to whatever society dictates to him or suggests to him, though he feels himself to be a free and independent agent. It is society which brings about this hypnotic state, placing the people into such a deep oblivion that they succumb to its every suggestion day after day, encumbered by its influence from the cradle to the grave. #Repost @king_naga・・・Patrice Lumumba: the most important assassination of the 20th century:Patrice Lumumba was the first prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, calling for national unity and overall African independence. Patrice Émery Lumumba (born Élias Okit'Asombo July2,1925 – January17 1961) was a Congolese independence leader and the first democratically elected Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo (now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo). As founder and leader of the Mouvement national congolais, Lumumba helped win his country's independence from Belgium in 1960.Within twelve weeks, Lumumba's government was deposed in a coup during the Congo Crisis. The main reason why he was ousted from power was his opposition to Belgian-backed secession of the mineral-rich Katanga province. Lumumba was subsequently imprisoned by state authorities under Joseph-Desiré Mobutu and executed by firing squad under the command of the secessionist Katangan authorities. The United Nations, which he had asked to come to the Congo, did not intervene to save him.
