What a thoughtful gift for a loved one a
hand turned darning mushroom might make.

No two the same, made from 100% natural materials & developed to extend the life of your most loved clothes.
Each mushroom comes in a protective cotton bag and up until the new year we will add a 15m length of darning wool to each mushroom order.

Repairing what you wear is an act of love for the planet we share.

In no particular order…
Lichen, moss, crabapple, rose, ginger, ochre, oyster, salmon, oat, citrine, stone, coral, marigold, apple, apricot, There are plain, marls & flecks, and there are classic undyed shades too.
There are small (UK 4-7) and large (UK 8-11).
Everything I’ve been making is finally online now.

All colour ways are dyed by hand in the studio at the bottom of my garden. I use only natural plant dyes.

Don’t hang around if there’s a colour you like…I make them in the most minuscule batches.
That said, I will keep adding new colours and replenish what I can in the run up to Christmas.

Every order comes beautifully wrapped (if I do say so myself) and I can write a personal note if it’s a gift.

Shop small business this Christmas if you can.

Ps. Gone nuts for the greens this year.

Last weekend was the final workshop of the year in our shed.
The Intro to Natural Dyeing workshops always attract the most fascinating guests.
Good people with like minds, shared values and always a deep love for the natural world.
I’m never not inspired by those who take the time to visit and learn about dyeing with plants and I consider myself very lucky to get to meet such creative folk.
@nate_moss brought the most exquisite flowers and
they’ve spent a full week looking resplendent and much admired on our kitchen table.
We’ve watched as the colours developed over the weekend. I love them as much now (1st pic) as I did when they arrived last Saturday (2nd pic).

Thank you Nate and everyone who came last weekend. I hope you got as much from the workshop as I did from meeting you all.
Truly inspiring.

MIXED SNIPS BOX.

I’ve had to reduce the snips box offer to just the MIXED box and NEUTRAL box whilst I work on other projects for the remainder of 2026.
The other colour ways (WARM & COOL) will return in the new year once I’ve had time to dye some new shades.

I’ve so many beautiful bias cut ribbons in boxes waiting to be photographed but this (and admin) is a task I tend to avoid.
I just want to be in the shed, elbow deep in plant dye every day and not trying to capture something so alive with colour into a small digital square.

Tips for tackling the ‘hard stuff’ as a solo small business most welcome!

Perhaps I’ll have a go next week.

What a Summer.

I feel rather dazed & confused but I’m looking forward to getting back in the studio from tomorrow.

Six weeks of intermittent, snatched hours of work, leaves me with a long list of work to be getting on with.

This beauty is by my forever floral muse @leigh.chappell.flowers and the ribbon is from the Spring /Summer ribbon box, of which there are a couple remaining.

There’s also a giveaway to win a box (see earlier post).

I’m pausing these special, seasonal boxes for now. I’ve loved making them and I’m grateful to everyone who has bought one over the last few years.
