While the midterms might be a big thing to all of you regarding WHO to vote for, this is a what. A very important what. Under the threat of an intensely authoritarian federal government the rights of the vulnerable are under threat. Big threat. But that doesn't mean there is nothing we can do. Under the direction of Virginia's current governor, Abigail Spanberger, we can still vote to secure rights for both women's bodily autonomy and same-sex marriage on a statewide level. If House Resolutions 1 and 3 pass. And you better believe y'all better show up to vote.

Don't make the same mistake of thinking civil rights, LGBTQIA liberation, and access to reproductive healthcare are all worth throwing away for a possibly better economy (which didn't happen anyway) like so many did in 2024.

Today is Trans Visibility Day. There is no lie that we are all going through some hard times and we are looking right in the face of people looking to remove us from society. It may seem large, unconquerable, and impossible to defeat, and we may not have a chance. But that couldn't be further from the truth.
.
We are more together even when they want to convince us we are alone. We are so strong when they want to convince us we are so weak. And if we were so easily conquerable they wouldn't be blowing billions of dollars, running endless propaganda campaigns, or trying to rewrite all of society to remove us.
.
We can survive and will survive. Just like how a lovely cherry blossom survives through the harsh winter, makes it through the cold, and emerges as it truly is when the world thaws, we will do the same. Such is the way of a warrior.

I don't have to lose sleep over costumes this October! No, this time it's for decorations and catering for a party! 🎃💀

Yeah, we probably all started our journeys wanting to figure out who we were going to be for Halloween and doing a good job of it! I was Indiana Jones for Halloween for years until I decided to pursue cosplaying as a longtime hobby and ever since then the options have been more varied and of more movie-level quality! Like this Indiana Jones cosplay...the new one that is.

I want to thank @costumeandcamera for putting this whole thing together too. It was a great day to do stuff like this even if the weather was doodoo!

Ironic that Indiana Jones exists thanks to the Saturday matinee, but he's not much of a showman when hired for a short! 🎃👻

Yeah, let's not lie: Often times educational humor is the pits. I think often people would prefer dad jokes! But hey, nobody can't say that Indians Jones at least tried here! Just like everything else when something is needed of him!

Batman is a lot like the goth girls of the cosplay community. The outfit itself is great enough but all you need is ONE spooky prop and BOOM. Just the right photo for Halloween! 🦇🎃

You know, in a lot of ways Batman is just as much a spooky pulp detective hero as he is the billionaire techwiz we know him as! Sure, through movies, games, and shows he may seem like a hightech warrior or a hulking beefcake, but his routes like in noire thrillers found in pulp comics and shorts. So really...yeah! Batman CAN be considered a Halloween outfit in and of itself!

I still can't get over how this lightstick trick turned out! We did such a cool job here underneath the ground!

Art is the expression of the inner soul and is a great representation of the element that is passion. 🎨🎭
.
I do think cosplay can be considered an artform and that is why I take it seriously and want to keep A.I. away from it as much as any other artform. Aside from the fact A.I. cosplay in of itself makes no sense...where is the love? Where's the work? The effort? The experience? The thrill? Or the great fact that you are looking at something right in front of the camera?
.
Some of my cosplays are bought from vendors, but many, even ones that may look bought, are either ones I made from scratch or bought then heavily modified. The process can be tiring, nerve-wracking, exhausting, and yes, tough...but really, is that an excuse to just...cheat? To skip all the work, new skills we can learn, and learn from our mistakes to just generate something fake? I don't think so.
.
Try. Learn. Mess up. Learn from your mistakes. And get better. That is a major part of art.

Ant-Man is just a regular dude like you and I, but above all, he is a man who is here to help you, and everybody else looking for a person just wanting to do the right thing! 🐜

Really, I have no interest in Doomsday, but I still keep those great movies and memories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to heart. One of them being the original Ant-Man, and even its sequel. It's nice to just genuinely chill with some heroes and learn to take things easy without the whole universe blowing up. And I will still remembet and pour one out for our good man Antony!

Oh, and um, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still an absolute masterpiece!

Looks like I joined up with the armies of Eternia in order to become the Princess of Power, fight tye forces of evil, and find some nice plastic at a rather decent prince on the market! 🌌🌟🌈

MotUFest 2026 from @thepowercon is the first smaller-scale con I have been to since 2018. And really...I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was a great time celebrating He-Man, She-Ra, and all things Masters of the Universe/Princess of Power! And man was it a great time meeting fellow fans I have only known from afar and getting to talk with them and attend their panels! And the artwork and toys I got? It was great to finally get sone things for a decent price too...EVEN IF THOSE SUPER 7 DREAMWORKS SHE-RA FIGURES ARE OUT OF MY PAYGRADE. AAAGGHHH
.
The cosplay contest, get togethers, and food around the area were also immense highlights. And of course, above all, debuting my Renaissance DreamWorks She-Ra at a con and being the person I always was. Another step in my life of continuing my journey of self-acceptance and perserverence that has no sign of stopping. And to all of you who do the same? That truly, is having the power.
