There is no perfect time. There is only the time WE DECIDE is perfect. The day WE see the stars as aligned is the day that WE MOVED into position, looked up, and CHOSE to see the stars as aligned.

What better time than now?

Our needs and wants have been waiting for us to respond with action. They have been waiting for us to no longer wait for a perfect time and/or for us to wait for persons other than ourselves to address them.

No one has... and no one will.

So the question again is, what better time than now? Well, at THE NEW BLXCK, say “The Time is Now”

For generations, we’ve asked, campaigned & petitioned in some way or another for change...and nothing has been done to adequately solve our issues.

Let’s decide that time is now...and make it happen.

It is time we control our destinies and build our own table instead of begging for a seat at one. It is time to prioritise ownership & begin to properly benefit from the indispensable influence we have on the various industries to hold up this economy. #THISISOURSTNB

We are who we’ve been waiting for... and we are more than equipped and ready (to make real what many of us never thought possible). No more just talking. It’s time we start doing!

Remember, “I am because we are”! Join us @thenewblxck in creating a legacy. After 05.05.2024...there is no going back! The industry as we know it will never be the same. Subscribe, share, like and comment.

“The time is now... Let’s just do it... No turning back!”

This is the mantra! This is the chant! Fearless, bold and ready to make the impossible a reality by any means necessary.

Naysayers say we can’t be on code, we can’t unify, we can’t build together. Well, we’re doing exactly that to SHOW and PROVE that has always been a lie...and to show & prove, we’re on job & mean business!

I am because we are! This is for you, this is for us! This is just the beginning. This is us actively taking our destinies into our own hands. No more looking to others to do for us what we are more than capable of doing for ourselves!

Black Excellence is not just an idea...it is a tangible living reality. Let’s share with the world our experiences, our stories, our brilliance with our voices, with our pens, through our lens... and, most importantly, on our terms!

Like, comment, and share! Follow @thenewblxck on all social media platforms. Visit www.thenewblxck.com for ALL information regarding how to join the movement & how to secure shares in TNB. The revolution that Black British culture has always needed in mainstream media has arrived!

PSYCHEDELICS IN AFRiCA: THE UNTOLD STORY - 4 WEEK COURSE - IN PERSON - LIVE STREAM - RECORDINGS AVAILABLE

The photograph above was taken of me in South Africa at a site commonly known as “Goliath’s Footprint” that has become the subject of stories and speculation about ancient giants.

Some interpretations connect the site with the Anunnaki, the ancient Mesopotamian deities recorded in Sumerian traditions, and with later stories of giants, creation and humanity’s origins. Some theories have even suggested that the Anunnaki came to southern Africa in search of gold.

But where does mythology end and history begin?

And what happens when we place these stories alongside the ancient traditions of Africa, Mesopotamia, the ancient Hebrews and other cultures whose creation narratives speak of gods, ancestors, giants, altered states of consciousness and humanity’s relationship with the natural world?

These are some of the questions we’ll begin exploring in Week 1 of Psychedelics in Africa: The Untold Story.

WEEK 1: ORIGINS: HUMANITY, CONSCIOUSNESS & THE FIRST PSYCHEDELIC TRADITIONS

🍄 PSYCHEDELIC CREATION STORIES & HUMAN ORIGINS
Exploring African creation stories, Indigenous cosmologies and ancestral knowledge systems that place plants, fungi and altered states of consciousness at the heart of humanity’s origins and our relationship with nature.

🧠 THE EVOLUTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Examining ideas about psychedelics, human cognitive development and the controversial Stoned Ape Theory, alongside archaeological and ethnographic evidence from Africa.

🎨 CAVE ART, CRAFT, DANCE & TRANCE
Journeying into ancient African rock art and embodied traditions, exploring how imagery, ritual, dance and trance may preserve clues about humanity’s earliest relationships with altered states of consciousness.

This is Week 1 of a four-week journey through African psychedelic history, mythology, sacred knowledge, Indigenous practices, diaspora connections and the future of psychedelic research.

📍 The New Blxck, Shoreditch
🗓 Sunday 4 October 2026

🍄 PSYCHEDELICS IN AFRICA: THE UNTOLD STORY 🌍

A 4-Week Course with Darren Le Baron

What happens when we look beyond the modern psychedelic renaissance and return to the ancient roots of psychedelic knowledge?

Across four Sundays, we’ll journey through Africa’s rich psychedelic heritage, exploring sacred fungi, plant medicines, ancient cosmologies, cave art, initiation, ritual, spirituality, ancestral communication and the continuing traditions of Indigenous communities.

🌀 Across the 4 weeks, we explore:

Week 1 — In The Beginning
Origins, ancient traditions, psychedelic creation stories, human consciousness, cave art, dance and trance.

Week 2 — The Mystery Systems
African Goddess traditions, sacred knowledge, ancient Egypt, mushrooms, DMT, sacred geometry and plant intelligence.

Week 3 — Hidden in Plain Sight
The geography of Africa’s psychedelic plants, Indigenous spiritual practices, traditional healing, divination, colonisation and resistance.

Week 4 — The Hereafter
African diaspora connections, the global psychedelic renaissance, ethical integration and possibilities for Africa’s psychedelic future.

This is about expanding the psychedelic story — bringing ancestral knowledge, Indigenous perspectives and overlooked histories into the conversation.

🐾 It is time for the Lion to tell his own story.

📍 The New Blxck, Shoreditch
📅 Sundays — October 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th

THE UNTOLD STORY CONTINUES… In Person, Live Stream and Recordings Available!

I’m excited to announce a new collaboration with The New Blxck @thenewblxck

Following the incredible response to our recent @thedayaftertnb podcast conversation, we’re taking things off the screen and into the room… beginning this September with a special live edition of:

🍄 PSYCHEDELICS IN AFRICA: THE UNTOLD STORY
📅 Sunday 20th September 2026
📍 The New Blxck, Shoreditch, London
🕑 2pm–6pm | Doors 1:30pm
🎥 Live stream + recording available

Over the past year, I’ve continued travelling, researching, listening and learning across South Africa, Namibia, Egypt Morocco and Gabon — spending time with Indigenous communities and knowledge keepers, visiting ancient sites and following threads connecting fungi, sacred plants, altered states, initiation, ritual, healing, ancestry and human consciousness.

I’ve returned with new research, new questions, new connections and plenty of stories to share.

And September is only the beginning…

✊🏿 BLACK HISTORY MONTH, WE GO DEEPER.

Throughout October, The New Blxck and I will present an all new four-week edition of Psychedelics in Africa: The Untold Story.

Four Sundays. Four chapters.
This isn’t simply about looking into the past.

It’s about recognising living traditions, listening to knowledge that has survived against extraordinary odds, questioning who gets to tell the psychedelic story — and ensuring Africa is no longer treated as a footnote in a history that begins on the continent.

Four speakers with different career journeys in psychology and beyond. And we're bringing them together for one conversation.

Meet the full panel for Beyond the Therapy Room👋🏾

We’ll be joined by:

Dr Dapo Olafimihan
Dr Paris Capleton
Dr Ron Dodzro
Dr Esther Cole

Between them, they bring experience across the NHS, independent practice, consultancy, community work, academia, organisational work and beyond.

This event is open to everyone, although it may be particularly for psychologists, therapists, trainees and other professionals across the psych professions who are curious about different ways of working, thinking about their career direction, considering independent practice, or simply interested in hearing honest experiences of what can exist beyond the traditional therapy room.

We're not coming together to tell you what your career should look like, we're coming together to ask what else is possible? We believe this can be helpful for whatever setting you work in.

Expect talks, honest conversations, Q&A, our interactive Practice Gallery and plenty of time to chat and connect.

📍 The New Blxck, London
📅 Saturday 3 October
🕛 12–4:30pm

🎟️ Tickets are still available, grab yours via the link in our bio.

We can't wait to get these four in a room together!
