IT’S TIME TO PUSH

Month nine of the year, and I’m thinking about the fact that nine months is also how long it takes to carry a child to term.

A lot of us are carrying something real, that has been conceived and must be delivered.

The early days where you didn’t show, you just felt off, tired in ways you couldn’t explain, protective of something too fragile to talk about, stayed rooted. It looked like almost nothing was happening on the outside, but on the inside, everything was. If nobody around you knew what you were carrying either, that was not you being behind; it just wasn’t time.

Somewhere in the middle, you probably felt it move, just enough to know it was real. And then it stopped being comfortable. That’s what it feels like right before something gets delivered.

And now? It’s time to push.

Nobody can push for you. Birthing what is inside has to be done when carried to term. When it’s actually time, the pushing is yours alone to bear.

There’s an assignment whose job is the miscarriage and abortion of the seed of the womb of destinies. Whatever’s been quietly working against your birthing, should not get to win.

If that’s been you at any point this year, it’s a good time to ask God for the same strength Sarah asked God for.

When you have a mission, you do not need permission. So do something, even something small, for the person this labour is making of you.

We often pray for the strength to conceive. But there’s a second prayer, the strength to push, the strength to actually bring forth what has been carried to full term. Amen.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is[indeed] plentiful, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” - Matthew 9:37-38

“Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD. “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God. - Isaiah 66:9

Luke 5:36-38- The parable of the new wine is a series of contrasts between new and old. It contains new and old clothing, new and old wineskins, and new and old wine. This makes the “newness” possible, and once that “newness” is available, it is incompatible with the old.

“We therefore need the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, which becomes our new covering, our new garment. As we become one with Him and submit to taking on His image, we have a righteousness that does not come from our works but from God’s work in us.”

Jesus’ righteousness is available to us, so we need to discard any thought that our own is suitable. Instead, we must put on His righteousness and be conformed to it so that it fits and covers us appropriately. Clearly, works are involved and required on our part, but without the covering and involvement of Christ, those works would continue to be as filthy rags. We therefore need the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, which becomes our new covering, our new garment. As we become one with Him and submit to taking on His image, we have a righteousness that does not come from our works but from God’s work in us. Amen 🤍🍇

He spoke a parable to them: No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from it, and the tear is made worse. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved - Matthew 9:16-17.

Full circle moment to host Sontalk Concert 2 in December, which doubled as @thenewine monthly-devotion fellowship.

From the early 2020s, I binge-watched almost all of Pastor Chris Delvan’s sermons because of how much “the minister who pastors in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria” left me in awe after his messages. (To be continued someday).

Fast forward to 2025, whilst the Lord had been at work behind-the-scenes, then comes Son Talk 2/ Call2All pre-conference. The first Son Talk concert was in 2004, and two decades later, @thenewine hosted Sontalk Concert 2! God is indeed mindful and has ordered our steps ahead! Trust His ways🤍

Side note: Call2All is a global movement dedicated to bringing the body of Christ together to; partner, plan and work in unity to complete the Great Commission in these last days. It commences in less 10 days, from 21-24 January, 2026 at the International Conference Center, Abuja.

Recent and current events across the globe underscore the urgency of this mandate and Nigeria is clearly at the center of it.

Led by Dr Mark Anderson, President of Call2All and Pastor Chris Delvan, international facilitators will be in attendance to serve in equipping the Body of Christ and enrich the discourse.

We can recraft the future of our nations and generations, when we respond to the Call2All. Take this as your special invitation to partner and make this lofty mandate a reality in our generation.
