Today, I was proud to present a @NYCCouncil proclamation to @TheNewMajorityNYC!

As the first Black Speaker leading our historic women-majority Council, our work would not have been possible without their support.

We must continue to advance women’s representation and leadership that deliver for our communities! Speaker Adrienne Adams smiles as she reads a framed City Council proclamation, holding it with both hands in her office, with city buildings visible through the window behind her. by @thenewmajoritynyc

A few more pictures from last Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Fundraiser: Passing the Torch — Supporting a New Generation of Women Leaders!

Thanks to you, we are so close to our end-of-year fundraising goal. If you were unable to attend the Fundraiser—or if you would like to contribute further toward passing the torch—please consider making an additional donation at the link in our bio. No amount is too small, and every contribution helps!

We look forward to continuing this work together, and we hope you’ll keep “passing the torch” with us as we build political power for women in New York City! by @thenewmajoritynyc

A powerful afternoon at City Hall with the generations of women who refused to accept “not yet.”

From the suffragists who fought for the right to vote to all of the advocates still pushing for the Equal Rights Amendment today — this movement has always been about making equality real and lasting.

Grateful to stand alongside so many incredible leaders and organizers today as well as @carolynbmaloney and @cmvirginiamaloney leading the way! #eranow #femalepower #womensupportingwomen #womenempowerment #equalrightsamendment taken in New York City Hall by @thenewmajoritynyc

More than 100 years after suffragists traveled the country demanding the right to vote, the historic Golden Flyer II is making its final stop in New York City as part of the national Driving the Vote for Equality Tour.

Join Council Member Virginia Maloney, Former Congresswoman @CarolynBMaloney, @sign4era, @eracoalition, @newmajorityNYC, and advocates this Thursday, May 28 at 1:30 PM on the City Hall Steps to build momentum for formal recognition of the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

See the historic vehicle, hear from advocates, and be part of this important moment.

🌸I was overjoyed to launch our canvass today with @thenewmajoritynyc , the organization responsible for electing a majority-women City Council. I’m proud to have received their First Rank endorsement, due to my strong track record on Community Board 4, fighting for a District 3 that’s healthier and safer for young women, mothers, and the thousands of families that make up our district. Let’s take this fight to the City Council, where experienced leadership from women is already leading the fight for a more livable city! 🥳

Yesterday we rallied for the Equal Rights Amendment — because equality should never be up for debate.

Thank you to @cmvirginiamaloney and former Congresswoman @carolynbmaloney for leading the charge and continuing the fight to ensure the ERA is recognized as the 28th Amendment.
