2026 State of Black Food Kulture Award Honoree 🏆 Humbled to receive the national Dr. Leni Sorensen Kulture Champion Award at the State of Black Food Conference: Black Wall Street Edition. This award recognizes writers, bloggers, and authors who champion Black and Brown food culture, and honors those committed to preserving, documenting, teaching, advocating for, and celebrating Black and Brown foodways and culinary history. Food has always been more than what’s on the plate. It carries memory, migration, resilience, and identity. Through Stories Behind the Menu and my work with theNEWmpls, I’ve had the privilege of amplifying the chefs and makers whose stories deserve to be told, documented, and passed down. To be recognized in a name that honors Dr. Sorensen’s legacy as a culinary historian and educator is deeply meaningful. Thank you to the State of Black Food Conference for this honor, and to every chef, storyteller, and community member who trusts me with their story. The work continues. #StateOfBlackFood #KultureAwa #CulinaryHistory #FoodStorytelling #StoriesBehindTheMenu by @thenewmpls

💚 NEW CHAPTER ALERT 💚 I'm beyond excited to share that I've officially joined @girlscoutsrv Girl Scouts River Valleys as the new Senior Director of External Relations! In this role, I'm leading our public voice and brand, building partnerships, growing donor and corporate relationships, and driving the marketing and communications that help more girls across our region discover everything Girl Scouts has to offer. If you know me, you know this is exactly my lane: relationships, storytelling, and mission-driven growth. Grateful for everyone who's walked this journey with me and so ready for what's next.
