Brenda’s Basement, our debut EP, is out!!!! 5 original songs, recorded @berkleecollege , engineered and mixed by @robjaczko , and mastered by @ianstewartmusic We are so proud of this recording. It is a culmination of writing the music we love, inspired by our favorite artists, playing countless shows, and ultimately recording it with a legend in a world class studio. Enjoy!!! by @thenightmandrumeth

Detailed breakdown below: Having in-depth vocabulary is important, but so is knowing how to use it. Here's an example of how to use just a couple ideas in a way that sounds natural and gets people excited. Ideas (sticking) used: Six Stroke: RllrrL Hand/Foot Singles: RFRFRF Layered Variation: RFBFRF BFRFBF The LH hi-hat is introduced "every other" to make an upbeat 8th note triplet Notice it feels good in part because I'm making modifications and extrapolating ideas as the phrase goes on and it morphs into the next idea. This way it feels less blocky and like less pressure than coming up with a new idea every phrase. Experiment with your own ideas (or steal mine) and have fun! #drumsolo #drumlessons #musicianship #bostonmusic #drums taken in Sally O'Brien's by @thenightmandrumeth

Every. Single. One of Us. Hey all, for those who don't know me, I'm Jake Gabriszeski, a Boston based drummer/ educator/ composer. Join me as I continue my musical journey, build my brand, and share my knowledge and experiences along the way. For those that do, thank you for your continued support in my pursuit of all things music. It is beyond rewarding to play for you all, make music I'm excited about and help inspire the next generation (or those who have wanted to their whole life). Thank you and see you at the next show. And remember never to trust a drummer who leaves anything in their pockets... #drums #aboutme #drumhumor #bostonmusic #drummerproblems by @thenightmandrumeth
