Please give our new single 'Cumberland Oval 1975' a listen or two if you haven't already, at all the usual streaming/Net places.
It's a spoken word over galloping VU rhythm retro rugby league song, currently receiving a very positive response on community radio around the nation through @amrap.org.au , which we're super pleased & grateful about 😊
Three gigs by The Night Packers in Oct to be announced soon... by @thenightpackers

SXY XMS, everyone’s favourite greasy Sydney rock enthusiasts are heading to the seminal wilds of Ryan’s at Thirroul for another chapter of the Dog Days & Raven Nights series.
Fun fact: we’ve only played one show outside of old Sydney town until now!
Don’t miss this chance to see us down south with local shoegaze sweeteners Dropping Honey, and the masters of midnight fulfilment The Night Packers.
Saturday 10 October at Ryan’s Thirroul from 8pm.

The Night Packers are keen to make their long-overdue debut @theviconthepark front bar this Sunday 13 Sept, as part of the excellent Loudbark free mini-fest series curated by @musicboozeco

These free events feature multiple local bands playing short 30mins sets. A terrific way to sample some of the musical talent goin' on in this town on a relaxed Sun arvo at The Vic.

Six bands in total this time around, with The Night Packers due on around 5.30pm. Might seeya there! 😊 taken in The Vic on The Park by @thenightpackers

Thanks so much to the crew of the Wednesday 'The Daily' program on @2ser107.3 for inviting Dave Wilks from The Night Packers on-air tomorrow just after 9.00am to discuss the band's new retro rugby league single + Music & Footy more broadly! by @thenightpackers

Some stuff The Shorts of Jordan loved in the mid-90s, Pt.2 - from ads placed in The Drum Media back then.

Both pubs still exist, but no longer have live music.

p.s. Dave Wilks was singer/guitarist for The Shorts of Jordan & is now singer/guitarist for The Night Packers. He still loves most of these things listed 🙂 by @thenightpackers

Interesting snapshot of (just some) of the stuff The Shorts of Jordan loved, based on these mid-90s gig ads in The Drum Media.
All venues now defunct for live music (or just generally).
Part 2 to follow soon. by @thenightpackers

The Night Packers are thrilled to release our new single today - a spoken word (mostly) true tale delivered laconically over a driving VU/Modern Lovers rhythm.
A single day snapshot of authentic 1970s Sydney working-class culture & rugby league social history.
We hope you enjoy the story, the music & the 70s crowd sounds outro.
You can hear it right now on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube & Apple Music.
Look out for several live shows in Sept/Oct 🙂 by @thenightpackers
