This post was challenging for me to share. My social media feeds are currently flooded with everyone’s perfectly curated memories from this year. In an effort to remain true to myself, both online and offline, I have chosen to share a more realistic roundup of the good, the bad, and the ugly of my year. Plagued by a mystery chronic illness, the reality is that I spent the majority of the past year in physical pain and in a constant battle with my mental health. You would never know that from just seeing my happy moments. I feel it’s time that we, as a society, stop trying to sell our lives as “Instagramable” on social media. If you didn’t have an incredible year, that’s okay—most people probably didn’t either. Cheers to 2024; may it suck just a little bit less by @thenikonprincess
