We all bore witness to the murder by neglect of a sweet little cat whose name we found out…was Blue. By now we have multiple witnesses who have come forward. His murder by neglect was brutal. And yet they never even bothered to give him an HCN number. They never even cared to know his name. His existence would have never been known had a brave volunteer not thought quickly and discreetly.
With Blue’s gasping and convulsing last moments, he left us a message; he unveiled the truths. He unveiled the horrors at Lisa Jaeger’s warehouse and those complicit.
His death cannot be in vain. The lives of the remaining cats of Happy Cat Sanctuary are in peril. They need YOUR help.
As such, we demand justice. While multiple things unfold at once we want YOU to be part of the voice for the voiceless.

HAPPY CAT SANCTUARY - WARNING: DISTURBING IMAGES

HE SUFFERED FOR 3 DAYS, SEIZING, ALONE IN A CAGE….

The outrage we feel at the injustice this poor little cat faced at the hands of those currently in charge at Happy Cat Sanctuary is indescribable. No amount of rage, sense of unfairness, and sadness will bring this little cat back from a death he did not deserve.
This little cat was taken from the upstate sanctuary by Lisa Jaeger on Saturday 4/26. He arrived on Long Island and got to enjoy one or two days of Churu treats (video in comments) before those at the warehouse began to play veterinarian.
This sweet and friendly little cat was given GS Treatment for FIP.
How was he diagnosed with FIP from a Saturday to a Tuesday when he died? WHO DIAGNOSED THIS CAT WITH FIP in a mere two days? Where are the copies of his bloodwork? Who authorized the treatment for FIP for this cat?
Volunteers noticed that he was getting worse and worse. Volunteers claim they expressed to Lisa that the cat was getting worse and no one brought him to the vet. For 3 days he suffered, seizing over and over again, while those in charge turned a blind eye.
Finally he was brought to Atlantic Coast Veterinary where he was euthanized after jolting, screaming, and suffering on the ride to the vet.
The heart wrenching and video of this cat seizing is horrific. No one can bring him back to the life which was stolen from him. No one can turn back the hands of time and make sure that someone advocated for him.
But we can demand justice for him.

Today we laid Alley to rest.
He fought a courageous battle against the beast that is cancer.
I’ll miss his sweet and tender nature. He truly was an amazing little cat. The unfairness of his life taken at such a young age is heartbreaking. At only 8 years old, Alley’s cancer was so aggressive and ruthless. He was a warrior.
I held him, hugged him, kissed him, and told him I loved him so much. I told him to go and find his little best kitty friend over the rainbow bridge.
I love you, AC. You won’t be forgotten.
Thank you to everyone who sent him little treats and food. He enjoyed those very much. And thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers while he fought so bravely.

THE GIFT OF FOSPICE CARE

A couple of months ago, a wonderful advocate contacted us about this little cat in need. His name is Alley.
After a vet visit, an ultrasound revealed a 6 cm tumor in his ventral region. Due to his condition and tumor location, Alley is not a candidate for surgery or chemo. He is receiving palliative care in fospice (foster hospice). The doctor explained that he only has weeks left.
Alley is doing ok so far. He is not in pain. He likes to eat though he’s a little picky. He receives fluids every 48 hours and antiemetics as needed. He enjoys sitting by and looking out the window. He enjoys being held and having his chin rubbed. He likes treats. His prognosis was given 5 weeks ago and right now he’s enjoying each day to the fullest.
Alley doesn’t need any monetary donations. We have allocated funds for his palliative care. He needs warm wishes and good thoughts though. He does like to try different foods all the time so if you’d like to, you can send him a small Chewy gift card for new foods, treats, and little toys (link below).
When the time comes for him to cross the rainbow bridge we will hold him, tell him we love him repeatedly, and give him a dignified and peaceful passing. At only 8 years old, Alley has been dealt several cruel hands in life but we will do all we can to make sure the rest of his days are full of love and peace.

We are absolutely beyond devastated at the horrific news regarding Happy Cat Sanctuary. Chris Arsenault, the sanctuary’s founder, has perished in the fire that broke out at the sanctuary along with many cats. We are in a state of shock and are praying for those cats who survived. We also pray for Chris and those who perished. Chris loved all of his cats and dedicated his life to them. The rescue community has lost a beacon of hope for cats who depended on him. Chris always helped in more ways than just the sanctuary. We mourn this loss and pray for eternal peace for Chris and his beloved cats.

Phoebe Update

Sweet Phoebe was able to be taken to her foster home after a respiratory scare. At this time what we know is that Phoebe has moderate kidney disease. Situational stress can affect her heart and exacerbate her kidney disease condition. Phoebe will need to eventually visit a cardiologist to make sure that her heart murmur won’t be a detriment in the battle against her kidney disease.
Phoebe requires expensive food to support her kidney function. At this time we are not able to provide her with this type of food. A 12 day supply costs $64.56. We just don’t have the means to continuously provide her with the type of food that will support her kidneys. Additionally, continued monitoring of her heart and kidney function will be a large cost. She’ll need to visit a cardiologist every 6 months and internal medicine around the same.
The chances of Phoebe finding an adoptive home to cover her medical needs are dim. On top of that her age of 15 does make it likely she’ll never find someone willing to adopt her. So we’re left with taking care of her the best we can. We’re asking for 50 followers, to donate $5 per month to help us feed Phoebe the proper food for her ongoing care. Just $5 per month will make sure that she’s taken care of as best as she can be.

🆘 EMERGENCY 🆘

A couple of weeks ago we told of the plight of Phoebe, a 14 year old senior cat, who was given back to the rescue by her prior owner. Phoebe is now back under our care and preparing to be transported to her foster. However, early this morning as preparations were under way it was noticed that Phoebe has labored abdominal breathing. This is a medical emergency as it possibly indicates fluid accumulation from a probable undiagnosed heart condition.
Phoebe needs to go to an emergency hospital now. As fluid continues to accumulate her breathing will get worse and she will begin to feel like she’s drowning. Phoebe will need to be placed on oxygen and possibly have fluid tapped.
With too many emergency cases lately we just simply don’t have the funds to cover Phoebe’s needs. It being Memorial Day weekend will make an ER visit even more expensive. We need help for Phoebe right away. We do not have enough to even cover the walk in fee for an ER. Please consider a donation for Phoebe. We can’t help her without help.

🆘 EMERGENCY 🆘

Martha is puppy in our rescue who suddenly was very ill this morning. She began to have very bloody diarrhea, was in terrible pain, did not want to eat and was lethargic. She was rushed to the emergency hospital today where she thankfully tested negative for parvo but we don’t have a definite answer as to her problem.
Over the last few weeks our rescue has been hit very hard with medical cases and even though it was recommended she stay longer we just simply don’t have the funds. Her ER visit alone today was close to $1800 and we just don’t have the means to cover a prolonged stay. Martha was sent home with subQ fluids, antibiotics, and pain meds in the hopes that it’s a bad case of enteritis.
We’re begging for help at this point. If Martha were to decline we won’t be able to push further treatment. Our cards are maxed out, our funding is below red. We are in urgent need of help. Please consider a donation for Martha or some of the other medical cases we have at the moment.

🆘 SENIOR ALERT - HELP NEEDED 🆘

Sweet and gentle 14 year old senior, Phoebe, is losing her home as her family is no longer able to keep her. Her former foster has graciously offered to take her back. Due to her age and a few health concerns, Phoebe will likely remain at her foster mom’s home for the rest of her life to enjoy her twilight years under the care of the rescue.
Phoebe is currently in Brooklyn but her foster mom moved to Virginia 3 years ago so we are asking for donations to cover her transport fees to get her to her foster. We’re also asking for help to cover her special dietary food necessities. We plan to assess her health once she gets to her foster but as of now we know she has early stage kidney disease and dental disease.
While it is sad when a senior pet loses their home, we’re grateful her foster mom has agreed to care for her for the rest of her life.

🆘🆘 URGENT HELP NEEDED 🆘🆘

This little guy was found in this condition behind a beauty salon two days ago. He’s bleeding pretty profusely from both nostrils. He was taken to a vets office urgently yesterday and we’ve started some preliminary treatment but he is going to need much more very soon.
The truth is that we’re completely financially strapped. Lately we’ve been hit with several medical cases and we’re in a lot of debt. We really need your help to help this little one.
