ABSENCE 🥀 OUT NOW

Hey everyone, Mike here. I just wanted to give you some context on this song because it means a lot to me. What started as a ‘swan song’ for my dog, Chakotay, unexpectedly turned into something much deeper. While we were recording in Nashville I sent the first version of this song to my brother Chris while he was in the hospital to lift his spirits. He was always my biggest supporter and loved that dog as much as I did.

Watching him fight his own battle made me realize this song needed to be for him too. After Chris passed in late 2022, the band and I decided to dedicate this track to his memory, my family, and Chakotay. It’s an ode to anyone who has ever walked the difficult path of loss.

For you, Chris and Chakotay ♥️
