Today, Liam put on his high school lacrosse jersey for the last time.

It didn’t end the way we hoped—not on the scoreboard, anyway. But no final score could ever reflect the heart, effort, and love he’s poured into this game for over a decade.

We’ve been preparing for this moment for a while now, knowing it would eventually come, but nothing truly gets you ready to say goodbye to something that’s been such a big part of your life-and his.

We’ve watched him grow from a little kid with a stick taller than he was, to a young man who plays with heart, grit, and grace. We’ve seen him defeated and proud. We’ve watched him pick up teammates, lift up opponents, and push through when things got tough.

I know that this season didn’t always go the way we wanted. But we saw how hard you played out there-you never gave up. And we are proud of how you always handled yourself-as a player and a leader for your team.

Unfortunately, and this is a life lesson - sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t reflect the work you put in. It doesn’t show how much you care and how much of the weight you carry. But the scoreboard doesn’t define you. Your effort, your passion, your leadership, and your character do. And those are the things we’re most proud of.

Carry your head high, son. You’ve become a better man through this game, and that is the real win.

We always have-and we always will.

A new chapter begins now, filled with opportunities, growth, and everything

First day of kindergarten to last day of senior year — I’m fine. We’re fine. Everything is going to be fine. Liam, you’ve made us so proud!

For those who have been invested with us, you know it’s been quite a ride to figure it out. But our boy has made his decision —— and we couldn’t be prouder.

We have an Illini in the house!! 💙🧡

We knew he would be great wherever he landed, but it’s so special knowing he’s carving his own path — and that it’s close to home.

Thank you to all my people who prayed over this, listened to my endless ramblings, and answered every question with love and patience.
