Memory Projection—Asteroid no. 2436
Transmission of an Unknown Mercurian:

“Dreams function differently on Mercury; they occur while you are at peace and very much awake. Your world becomes vividly lit, much like the spattered sunlight that bursts through the gaps of tree leaves and branches at Earthen high noon. As a child, I lived in a modular steel home—a Dymaxion House. I would press the button to watch the ovolving shelves built into the wall rotate, tidily changing my sweaters for socks and blankets in seconds. I would stare at them until I entered a waking dream—myself, 5 inches tall, making a well-kept and elaborate little world on one of the steel shelves only to have it flip over and revolve into the recesses of the wall, losing my tiny utopia to the dark. I eventually wore the button out and my mother, a stern Saturnian extraction, never fully forgave me for damaging such an expensive luxury she had come to rely on.

When we came to Earth, I was plagued by recurring nightmares. I was caught in a glass and metal revolving door, watching older versions of myself passing through, hair down to my waist in a way I had not worn it since I was quite young—an endless carousel of a soul drifting through its past, to its present, then back again. The dimly lit dream would end when I reached out to her, a pair of sewing scissors in hand, to lovingly cut the length of hair that trapped her in that circle. “

Just in the nick of time for their album release show, I’ve concocted a very flowery design inspired by my favorite track, “Central Square City Park Flower Days” from @themellonsmusic ‘s newest album, “The Mellons in Color”! I absolutely love the way their sound exists perfectly between yesterday and today, and the song is so full, lush, layered and fun; hearing it took me somewhere beautiful in space and time and I wanted to bring you there, too~ ☺️🌸✨

Grab one of the ✨very✨limited shirts at The Mellon’s album release show this Thursday, July 16th @ 6pm at the Taylorsville @graywhaleslc !
