We’ve finally got a studio to work from!

After years of making whatever space we could into a ‘studio’ we’ve found somewhere we can build our base.

You can book us as Golden Hill Audio for both remote and in person jobs for Mastering, Mixing, Production, Recording and audio treatment / restoration.

We’ve put our equipment together and built the hybrid set up we’ve been dreaming of 👾

A chunk of the analogue section of our hybrid studio with units from @bettermakerproaudio @hendyamps @thermioniccultureltd @thehouseofkush @overstayeraudio @gainlabaudio and many more.

The Venice 320 acts as the membrane between recording synths, drum machines, instruments and effects. We have up to 48 channels of io rigged between this and our patch bay for mix downs and production sessions.

You can see our crookwood monitoring and transfer console on the left hand side of the room acting as the interface between our outboard, converters and speakers for mastering work.

We use @pmcspeakers alongside converters from @benchmarkmedia @rme_audio and Lavry

@thehunnytrap & @arthurflat5 came in to test out our array of microphones and experiment with recording direct to tape

This weekend I found out that an Artist (Chidimma) I worked with a while ago has decided to take the songs I produced for our project to another producer @hashtagobi to re create my work.

Here’s our Demos so people can reference my work and in the lead up to her album release you will know if any of the songs sound like these it’s because I curated, produced and directed the demos in the hopes we were going to further then finish a official body of work together.

This is my work, something I had created with someone spending a lot of time and effort into. I directed how the entire song should sound, from the instrumental to the vocal flow and the harmony’s. My only request was to be credited for my work to which the response was ‘I owe you nothing’ by @theofficialeli

Terms and Conditions - Track 7 from Beryl

A free verse poem by Nanka, drawing from a provocative interaction at a rave, something so short and simple can have such a profound effect on the way we interact with and interpret body language and conversation from one another.

Get lost in the present moment, it only comes around once.

A dreamy atmospheric Amiga Jungle etched out by Elisha in a loft in Walthamstow as spring flowed into summer in 2024. A track mirroring the rhetoric of Nanka, demonstrating clearly the symbiotic relationship between the duo Nanka and Elisha.

This is “Beryl”, an album I’ve produced for @nxnka, turning us into the duo: “Nanka and Elisha”.

It’s a complete experiment of running samples through an Amiga, and then out into a bunch of different outboard gear to create different sounds than what you may be used to!

Recorded on an SM7B, Nanka’s poetry, words, rhymes and flows are all authentic takes from my little loft bedroom in Walthamstow. We really worked hard, booking off most weekends over a seven month period (February to September 2024) before Nanka left on his travels.

Here we are, almost a year since we finalised production, ready and excited to share this project for you all to experience it as first time listeners!
