Welcome to The Old Wise Place. We are a family owned flower farm in Western Lincoln County. We have a specialization in sunflowers but have plans to add new varieties in the 2024 season. Our first of new blooms is our poppy field and it has been a perfect addition. We operate primarily as a photography venue and we love sharing our fields for the big and small moments. Seeing families and kids grow in our fields is one of our favorite parts, especially our own.

Remember, we operate by appointment only, so message us to get on our calendar and secure your spot among the blooms!

Our bloom schedule for 2024 is
Crimson clover - April
Poppies - April & May
Sunflowers - June, July, August & October
Zinnias - July, August & October
Cosmos - July, August & October

Happy Thursday! We’re thrilled about the upcoming 2024 season and the return of the beautiful butterflies.

Bookings for our 2024 flower season haven’t opened yet. Our new spring varieties need more time to progress before we can announce an opening date. Fingers crossed for blooms in late April or early May!

In summer, sunflowers and zinnias grace our fields from July, sometimes starting in June and extending into August.

For fall, expect the beauty of sunflowers, zinnias, and cosmos blooming throughout October until the first frost, predicted on October 22nd this year. We’ll keep you updated as our fields progress!

We are a family-owned flower farm, photography venue in Western Lincoln County.

We have a specialization in sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias, and we have exciting plans to introduce additional varieties in the upcoming 2024 season. In the off-season, we have open fields available, along with our beautiful tree swing.

We provide field rentals available in 30-minute or hourly bookings. Our pricing varies depending on the season. Message for more information.

To ensure a quality experience, we have limited the number of photographers allowed at a given time. Please send us a message to book, and we will promptly confirm the availability of your proposed date.

The flowers hold a special place in our hearts, as they help create cherished memories. Sharing this beauty with others has been an immensely rewarding journey for us.

These fall fields are truly some of the most beautiful ones we’ve ever planted! The colors are so pretty, and they’re full of monarchs right now, which makes them even more special. 🦋

If you’re hoping to book fall photos, we recommend booking before 10/25 to give yourself the best chance of catching the blooms. Our fall flowers typically last until the first frost, which in our area is usually around Halloween.

Welcome! Our beautiful fall fields have brought some new faces around here, so we thought we’d introduce ourselves!

We’re The Old Wise Place, a photography venue in western Lincoln County, NC. We book to photographers by appointment only and are not open to the public.

We love growing flowers and sharing them with everyone, but we both work outside the farm, so this little setup works best for our family. It’s a family-run operation with just the two of us and our little girl, and we do our best to balance it all while enjoying something we love.

We also have our brown glasshouse, which has been so much fun to fill with plants this year! We’re always slowly working on things and finding new ways to make this little piece of land even more special.

One of our OG photographers came out this week and confirmed that these are the prettiest fall flowers we’ve ever had! Her client even said she felt like a Disney princess, and honestly, I can see why. They really are so pretty right now!

Fall blooms are always a little tricky because they last until our first frost. Once we get temperatures down into the low 30s, that’s usually it for the season. Around here, that’s typically sometime around Halloween.

This weekend is showing some colder temperatures, but thankfully, still in the upper 30s overnight. We want these blooms to stay around as long as possible 💛 taken in Lincolnton, North Carolina by @theoldwiseplace

Happy Sunday! The fields are still looking amazing after all that rain! The grounds are still a little wet, but overall, not too bad.

We were able to treat a lot of the fire ant mounds before the rain, so fingers crossed that helps get some of them under control! We do our best to keep up with them throughout the season, but fall is always the worst for fire ants.

Fall bloom update!

These fall blooms are beautiful! The zinnias and cosmos are so pretty right now, and the sunflowers are about one-third bloomed with more opening every day.

If you’re hoping for fall blooms, I recommend booking before 10/25 just to help ensure you get them. The tricky thing with fall is frost — once we get a frost, our blooms are done for the season.

We have two fall booking options: Fall at The Old Wise Place and Private Glasshouse. We do book multiple photographers during our regular fall sessions, so the private option gives you the glasshouse to yourself.

Christmas sessions are also available to book! Be sure to read through the booking link, as it has all of the available dates and information.

If you have questions or run into any issues booking, feel free to message us. It can take up to 24 hours for a response. It’s just me handling the messages and scheduling, and I answer as quickly as I can!
