Our Annual Ramadan Campaign has begun! 🌙✨ Once again, we are launching our Ramadan Campaign to support the Indira Gandhi Children’s Institute in Kabul, where we aim to raise awareness about the severe malnutrition crisis in the country. In collaboration witn the hospital, we are committed to making a real impact. After last year’s succesful campaign, we were able to support the children’s hospital with medical equipment, medication, food, hygiene kits for mothers & staff, and cash assistance for families with malnourished children. In 2024, Save the Children International estimated that 6.5 million children would experience crisis levels of hunger, often leading to malnutrition. Last year, nearly 3 million children suffered from malnutrition, according to a World Food Program report. In January 2025, WFP reported that due to to international aid cuts and a potential freeze of U.S. funds, they can now only reach half of the millions of Afghans in need. Many families barely survive on minimal meals, often just ‘bread and tea’. Last year, we raised €25,000 in just 2 weeks. This year, we aim for €50,000 (!). For just €45,- you can support a malnourished child for an enter month. Additionally, you are indirectly contributing to the improvement of the hospital, making it a safer and better environment for children whom it is their last hope. 👉🏻 LINK IN BIO! Would you like to help girls in Afghanistan return to their studies? Press play and meet Sonia. She is a highly motivated and driven girl we have supported over the past year by sending her to a private university to study nursing. When we met Sonia, she was completely lost in a corner at their home. Now, she is cheerful, motivated, laughing again, but most importantly, she has regained the hope to chase her dreams. We are incredibly proud of this significant milestone for our foundation since the start. Sonia can soon build a career, support her family, and look forward to a bright future. It’s a small step on the road to tomorrow. Our goal is to provide at least 50 girls with a scholarschip over the coming year. The courses typically last 2-3 years, and you can choose to donate €45,- per month or a one time amount of €900 for the entire education, including travel costs. Any questions? Deadly floods hits Nuristan 🇦🇫 with more than 20+ killed and 100+ wounded. Flash floods have killed at least 26 people across eastern Afghanistan, including 23 in the mountainous province of Nuristan, where homes, markets and roads were swept away.Preliminary assessments indicate that at least 22 houses were destroyed and another 45 severely damaged. Four bridges, six sections of road, irrigation canals and flood protection walls also sustained extensive damage, disrupting access to affected communities. During my recent trip to Afghanistan in January, I met two incredible young girls at the orphanage we supported in Kabul together with our partner @aseelapp @aseelbuygood At the end of the day, I invited them to sit down with me for a conversation so I could get to know them a little better.We talked about many things. But eventually, they stopped asking me questions. Instead, one of the girls shared a wish—a heartfelt request. As you’ll see at the end of this video, her words brought me to tears. It has now been 1,762 days since the Taliban shut down secondary education for girls following their return to power in August 2021. Nearly five years later, Afghanistan remains in one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, and yet the world continues to remain silent. 🤐Watch the video and you’ll understand why it took me so long to drop it on my socials. It’s emotional. It’s heavy. A whole generation has already died and many more are on the way if we do nothing, say nothing and show no action. Don’t forget my homeland ❤️! by @theomidfoundation

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔! ⚡️❤️✨🪗🇦🇫What a day. What an evening. What a community.Last Sunday, like many others across Rotterdam, we were confronted with a major power outage. A situation completely beyond anyone’s control, but one that forced us to make the difficult decision to move the entire Ahmad Zahir Tribute from the afternoon to the evening at the very last minute. To be completely honest, there were moments when we did not know whether the event would be able to go ahead at all.Yet thanks to your patience, understanding, flexibility, and trust, we were ultimately able to come together and create something truly special.On behalf of Team Helai, The OMID Foundation, all artists, musicians, volunteers, and everyone involved, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to every guest who attended. You showed us that the love for Ahmad Zahir’s music and legacy is stronger than any setback.A special thank you goes out to everyone who adjusted their plans, waited patiently, travelled later than expected, or made an extra effort to join us despite the circumstances. Your support means more to us than words can express.Despite all the challenges, we sang together, shared memories, celebrated our culture, and honoured the life and legacy of an artist whose voice continues to unite generations around the world.Beyond celebrating Ahmad Zahir’s timeless music, this event also served a greater purpose: supporting our projects and work in Afghanistan.
