Came here as a girl with a lot to work on, leaving as a woman with a lot to work with

Graduation is a MAJOR milestone especially for young black women like myself where years of hard work and dedication is exemplified. As I prepare for graduation, I reflect on all the challenges and rewards that have come making the moment very bittersweet. Thank you to my family for always being there to support me, give encouragement and applaud me for all my successes. Thank you to my friends for always rooting for me. Y’all remained by my side through stressful times and always gave me a reason to keep going. I am so so excited to close this chapter in my life and step into a new era of leadership and success.

On May 8, 2025, I will be graduating from The University of Georgia with my Master of Social Work, specializing in macro and micro practice. I would like to thank my family, friends and those who supported me along this journey. Special shoutout to the School of Social Work for this amazing opportunity filled with life- long knowledge, connections & experiences. With once started as a dream in the classroom to help and serve others has now become my reality as I advocate for my community. The end of an era, the start of a legacy.
